I’ll give you balmy

This world weather report thing is beginning to feel like some kind of self-inflicted torture.  I tell you how cold I am – and in return you tell me how warm and bloody balmy it is at your place.  Lucky I am tough, eh? Lucky I am generous.  Lucky I feel nothing but joy for you in your warm, balmy t-shirt-wearing weather. Lucky.

So anyway, after this morning’s RIGHT-up-to-the-front-steps frost the day panned out like a typical Winter’s day.  After the sun melted the icy grass, it was cool, but bright and bearable.  (And no, no photos today. I was in bed til it thawed enough for me to make it to the three-degrees (37.4 F) environment of our kitchen.  The water was still running, but it must have been almost slushy-consistency.  And I was concentrating on warming my fingers and innards up on the first few morning coffees before I picked up the Nikon!).  Strange thing is – the few days before that had been really mild – minimums of around 10 degrees Celsius (50 F).

Forecast for tomorrow and the week ahead is:
weather july4
So the next couple of days looks like more of this weird moist cool weather.  Which is okay – a little warmer and not so harsh and dry as usual mostly, but with those nasty, sneaky southerly winds lurking down there at the bottom of the forecast.  Look at Wednesday for instance – temps look acceptable, then you realise that it also says RAIN with SOUTHERLY windes. YUK.  Forecasts for frosts I get.  Not happily of course, but they make sense.  But this warmer weather (ish) mixed in with icy winds – it’s like Mother Nature is lulling me for a few days before RIPPING off the bandaid with a day of Real Winter when I least expect it.  She’s got a sick sense of humour, that one.

So go on – do your darndest – make me jealous with your forecasts.  Are you sipping Pina Coladas under palm trees in 30 degree heat?  Or iced tea under an umbrella by a pool somewhere? I do want to know. I need to travel (in my mind) to warm up my extremities vicariously…

…As I chug a hot chocolate under a doona, with the fire blazing in the fireplace as I try to stay awake watching Wimbledon tennis action.  I will be looking enviously at everyone’s short sleeves and bare legs.  You see that? I’m even jealous of Pommy weather… what is the world coming to? Barmy.

Hey, compared to the weather we have at the moment yours is balmy! Today was a brisk 16C and we were off having a picnic and freezing our butts off. Every time the sun came out my girlfriends and I moved our chairs into the sunshine to try and thaw out. I AM FREEZING!

I actually did spend the day yesterday by the pool sipping frozen margaritas and consuming homemade salsa! It was a perfect Michigan day, the kind you wish could come every day. Temps in the 80’s, no humidity, clear blue skies, light breeze occasionally, spent with friends and did I mention, beside a pool?? Oh yeah! It was so enjoyable I think we are going to do it again today though the temps will be a little closer to 90 today. Sorry, BB, but I do remember while I was suffering through a frigid Michigan winter reading all about the heat where you are and being so jealous! Turn about is fair play, right??

It’s not too bad here – 73F, headed for low 80s, but with possible T-storms today and several days into the future. And like Deb said, it’s really your turn – you were in the pool when I was snowbound in my apartment, unable to get out for a few days this past winter!!!!

I wouldn’t exactly call what we’re having ‘balmy’. Granted, it HAS been cooler the past few days (low 90sF), but the humidity has also been in the 90s! (percent, that is)

Still….I’d rather be hot than cold.

the weather up here has been rainy. We’ve had a hard rain nearly every week this spring, sometimes rain for days at a time. though the temperatures have been acceptable for the most part, anything over 25 and i suffer. so we need to exchange households for the seasons we don’t like. i’m sure the cannucks up here would be enamoured of you aussie accent.

Welcome to the forecast… Oh no that isn’t right as that would be in the future right… Okay, welcome to the presentcast for Belgium (which I mean it’s the size of a large Australian cattle property – pretty sure the weather is uniform across the country).

Dark, rainy and cold out the window.

Everyone is all like “oh my it has been so hot (30°) a bit of rain would be nice”.

Crazy Europeans. I want the sun back. I mean it IS meant to be summer.
