Cherokee update & the Nikon Nerd
Those who endured the eye surgery of our brave little chestnut gelding Cherokee, will no doubt be wondering how he is recovering from his ordeal.
Well, he has his first ride out yesterday with Mr Incredible – and according to his rider, he is doing pretty well.
I admit to being an overzealous Mum, and took some close-up shots of his eye to send through to his vet to check on his progress. (Imagine how delighted she is to have a blogger as a client? Actually she’s been very patient with the whole ‘sharing with the world’ process. God love her.) Apparently this ‘granulation’ of eye tissue is quite normal after this kind of op, and will resolve with time. Good news!
And in a super-smooth segue, did you notice that fog in the background of these pics?
And eerie.
Man, I suck at fog photos.
The exposure always stumps me.
All Nikon Nerd advice gratefully accepted.

Great News….I hope Cherokee continues to heal – aren’t Vets a special breed of people, ever so dedicated to our beloved animals…Go Granite Glens’ Vet!!!!
Personally I think your fog photos are fantastic, I can almost feel the chill in the air just looking at them.
I’m happy to say it’s bright and sunny on the Gold Coast this morning.

Okay, I’m supposed to be fixing dinner. DH bought steaks and is heating up the grill. But I saw your post so I’m blogging instead.
So glad that beautiful animal is healing. I also like the look of his saddle. A nice combination of the awful Western saddle with that big horn that tries to rip out your guts and the little English saddle that is a bugger to put on a tall horse.
The fog photos look good to me. I’ve got no suggestions on such things. We see fog here about twice a year. We have a hot wind today. Wind is worthless. >:(

Glad the post-op is going well, as to the fog, I usually photoshop after the fact……

I’m so glad Cherokee is doing well – he’s such a handsome boy. As for the fog pictures – I love them! They look perfectly “foggy” and remind me of my years living in or near San Francisco. I don’t see how you could make them any better.

Lovely, beautiful pictures, glad the handsome lad is none the worse for wear.
I think you did just great capturing the fog, I was jogging along the coastline just yesterday amongst a great swell of the stuff thinking how beautiful it would be to try and get some pictures of.
But unfortunately I was traveling light and only had my camera phone with me. I’m glad you got some pictures of it though, I just love the eerie feel that comes along with fog.

What a cute horsey! Yes, he is!
Also, I’m totally jealous of your blog layout.
I’m guessing what you saw in the fog was brighter than what the camera captured. Try overexposing it next time. But they’re fine anyway.

Not a bad effort for someone who reckons they can’t take fog photos!
Glad Cherokee is doing well!
