Dear Mr Sunwater
According to my (very reliable) sources, our State’s water authority does not believe that the big bridge crossing the river on our place is underwater.
Apparently it is not possible.
Well, unless I (and several neighbours, all armed with cameras) are mistaken, Mr Sunwater is misinformed.
And unless I had seen the evidence with my own eyes, I would not have believed it either.
So (again) I give you:
THE BIG BRIDGE. (Nogo River, North Burnett)
Exhibit A (taken yesterday afternoon)
Exhibit B (taken yesterday afternoon)
Exhibit C (taken this morning)
Exhibit D (taken this afternoon)
On behalf of the regular travellers of this Very High and Seemingly Unfloodable Bridge…
We rest our case.
The big girl is UNDER.
Amen.

Oh my gosh. I’d love to see Mr. Sunwater’s response. And what a name! Perfect for this particular Monty Python sketch.

BB, Is Bella on high ground and safe or is she – out there somewhere – ?
debby
NOT BELLA! BELLA?!!! Pulls on boots and heads out to save Bella. Hesitates at the thought of big black snakes. And chest deep water. And disappearing bridges. And stinking mud.
We must not be hasty here. Okay. Who’s Bella?

Bella, I believe, is Bay Lulic… who is quite safe and dry and frolicking in the house paddock!

Whoa.
Mr Sunwater has been known to be an arrogant sort in the past, so I’m not surprised at his response.
(and thinking about farms and big bridges just made me sad that I haven’t seen OUR big bridge for a year now. It really is a spectacular bridge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dickabram_Bridge )

Ahhh, Mr Sunwater, in true Monty Python style, will probably argue that as he cannot actually SEE the bridge you cannot prove to him the bridge is under water.
You may, he will argue, have possibly moved the bridge.

We have issues with Mr Sunwater as well. He built a Dam on our Boyne River. Now a large section of our main road to Gladstone is covered by the dam which is 3.87m over the spillway AND this is new road built to “bypass” the dam!!! As a consequence, we have had 30 family members flood bound at our house since Christmas. How soon does a dam go down??? Does anyone know?

Are you sure Mr. Sunwater isn’t an American politician?
