Gentle extras

In the flurry of action and drama and activity here at Granite Glen, a lot of the more ‘passive and pretty’ photos I am taking are getting left out when I hit the ‘publish’ button.  I am aware of how LONG some of my posts are getting, and having reasonably slow internet connection myself, I am aware of how LONG it takes to download a mountain of images.

Anway, this little collection are some shots skimmed from the avalanche of flood photos over the past week.  I think they deserve their own little corner of the blog to give y’all a little gentle respite from the roaring action of our floods.

A scotch thistle and droplet of rain overlooking the swollen river

The shiny trunk and shredding bark of a gum …

The footsteps of curious humans in the half-dried silt on a bridge

The only clear dry area many cattle could find – roads peppered with ‘cow bombs’ making driving especially interesting for tourists! (Okay so it’s not pretty, but worth a little giggle, no?)

A panorama (four images ‘stitched’ together in Photoshop) taken from the ridge beside the one our house sits atop.  (You may have to click and view it in Flickr to see it properly).

And rain dripping off an old rusty gate …

(My Dad will be horrified – he still doesn’t get my fascination with old stuff. Heh.)

So…

Did you enjoy that gentle visit?

And…

Are you ready for something a little more hardball shortly?
