Riders and random things…

This will be a licorice all-sorts kind of post. I am in the middle of everything at the moment – finalising the images for the 2012 BB calendar (one poll to go and them some quote choices), taking a breath after a lovely day celebrating my uncle’s 60th by the river today, and then packing for a night away at a bull sale tomorrow…

So as I sit here with my spiked coffee (a little Baileys for medicinal purposes only) I am contemplating the myriad of things I need to do before we drive off tomorrow, and busily avoiding achieving ANY of them…

Then I remembered that I have yet to post this series of shots.  Because I am the Queen of Procrastination.

These photos were taken during the school hols when my sister’s daughter Salina was with us (she’s my ‘spare daughter’ as Jeanie is already aware) – and they were riding with Mr Incredible and Pagi (my Dad).  Happy as clams, the lot of them…

(Have I ever mentioned how sexy my husband is on a horse? Once or twice? Heh.)

Three happy ringers… Jackaroo Dash and Jillaroos Salina and Violet!

How beautiful is my niece… gorgeous!

And Nana’s Angel? Dimples, check. Front teeth missing, check. Horse under control, check. All clear!

And Dash on Pickles – best buddies!  A couple of dreamers, this pair. Lovable dreamers.

Aside – considering this shot for the calendar.  Cause this shot is going in. And I cannot have one child represented without the other.  And it’s just SO Dash… no doubt fighting against the Decepticons in his little head..

Anyway, these shots were taken the same day I took this photo…

Which some of you asked to be put up for the calendar.  What say you?  Should I find a spot for it?

Or do I stick with this kind of mill shot? Oy, the decisions!

I also took this shot that day…

As close as I’ll ever be to SMOKIN’ hot. Heh.

I guess I should stop being random (and confusing y’all) and just bite the bullet and start packing already!

🙂

PS Forgive me if I am quite on the posting front for a couple of days.

PPS For those asking, Bay Lulic is still with us. I don’t want to jinx her by posting a full report (like I almost did last time) but she is sitting up much easier and seems a bit brighter. However her ‘good’ eye was injured during her fever and is now blue (therefore she is totally blind, which we hope is temporary) and she is nowhere near standing up. Bay Leaf (her calf) appears to be fighting a cold. Our battle continues…

I like your ‘mish-mash’ of pictures, the little glimpses of your days. I was thinking of that, the other day. How I see dozens of things that make me go, “Oh WOW!” The difference between you and me? You catch those things on film. I try to capture them in words. It’s not the same, is it? Just not the same at all.

Violet’s seat on her horse is incredibly good. I can recognize her from so far away because she has such immaculate posture. Jolly good teaching combined with the genetics gave the world an excellent horsewoman.

Ah ha – Baileys does improve coffee, kahlua isn’t too bad either! The kids sure are natural horse riders – great to see. Plus the fact that they are having the times of their youthful lives and not being “potato couches” in front of TV sets etc.
Good to know that the “old girl” is making a go of it. Hopefully the eye infection is only temporary?
Great post – looking forward to seeing what does end up on the BB 2012 calendar.
I certainly want to purchase one. Let me know by e-mail how I send the “loot”!!
    Cheers

So saddened to read of your old house cow’s recent dramas. They’re worth their weight in gold, I do hope she pulls through. She has supplied you with a wonderful legacy though in the shape of Bay Leaf. All the best for forthcoming bull sales.
