Road trip snap
I took a little road trip this week. I packed a bag after our special visitor said farewell, organised two days’ school stuff for the kids, got up before 5am (yikes) and headed off for a 1000km round trip.
To take in a bull sale and visit friends. As you do.
I don’t mind driving on my own – I love the time to think and play my music LOUD. Carrie Underwood, Jimmy Barnes and Robbie Williams copped a flogging along the way. Heh.
Those who know me well will testify that I don’t enjoy delays terribly. Patience is NOT my middle name. So when I came on my third lot of road works on the journey down, which caused me to be ten minutes late for the sale (which I should have been half an hour early for) I took a deep breath and self-medicated.

*Note my groovy turquoise bracelet. (Mr Incredible bought it for our tenth wedding anniversary, celebrated in Houston earlier this year.)
Now it’s off to bed for me – am a bit exhausted after scraping in the return journey to make the kids’ swimming carnival today. I missed one race. But of course it was the one Dash won a blue ribbon in. Oh dear…

sleep well. I have never worked out why the hell country shires always do roadworks when it’s a busy time. Our always starts just as harvest is starting!

Isn’t that the way it goes? You miss that moment of kid’s glory and the guilts can haunt you, even if you’ve burned both candles at both ends, got up before before 5 am, traveled 1000km, waited through delays and still to tried and be there.
