Changing backdrops

Have you missed me here in blogland?  I do apologise if you’ve been wondering where I am… we have been travelling, you see…

It’s been a pretty hectic year and we planned a week off a little while ago.  It’s the only way I get my husband to stop obsessing about work!

We hit the road in our shiny clean car,  exchanging this view…

To THIS!  The view outside our accomodation in Perisher – one of Australia’s best snow resort locations…

My family fell in love with snow skiing last year, when our tiny bush school managed to miraculously fundraise enough to send all students on a school excursion to this part of the world.  I cannot ski – my knee surgeon has enough heartburn with me horseriding and REALLY put his foot down about skiing.  I will be happy just to stay upright walking around the place here!

There are of course MANY more photos to come… I am sharing some as we go on Facebook and have dipped my toes into the world of Instagram also (but have yet to work out how to share those images here very well!).

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some icy snow to negotiate and many admiring photos to take.

😉

PS My friend OopsieMumma and her family have joined us – for the last couple of hundred kilometres they joined us in the Cruiser – it looked VERY cramped (instagram pic here).

Wow you certainly did travel far. I hope you enjoyed your trip. I always think it is amazing how much the country changes as you travel. It has been a while since I have been that far south but it is a beautiful area especially all that pretty white snow. We used to bug Mum about going to the snow as kids and the reply was look in the freezer but really we all know it isn’t the same. I look foward to more photos.

What a great change of scenery for you all! I love the mountains and go as often as I can. It’s about a four-hour ride from here to the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada near Lake Tahoe. To. Die. For. Vistas.

Have a safe trip; looking forward to those pictures.

Have you considered a bit of sledging? I never learned to ski, but went on lots of snowy holidays with mad-keen skiers and managed to have a great time on a sledge.
