Snow scenes

I went on some ski lift rides yesterday… I am one of those daggy people who ride it up AND down.  No skiing for this wrecked knee.  Plenty of pics though!

This one was taken from the TOP OF THE WORLD, Down Under. (Pretty sure that’s a real address).

This is wider shot, and if you look closely you can see the township of Perisher (middle right of pic).

It was pretty cold (around minus 4 degrees Celsius) with a sneaky wind.  But SOOOOOO beautiful.

The details mesmerised me as much as the sweeping white views…

Mossy granite and weathered timber against blinding blue skies…

Snow gum trunks and fluffy white snow (dreamy!).

How utterly gorgeous is this detail?

I suspect some of these will make it onto the walls at home.

A world away!

And a creek winding its way through the village – icy water appearing from under the snow.

This shot was taken metres from our accommodation.

Funny how I can travel thousands of kilometres and still be mesmerised by trees and water.

Hope you enjoyed as much as I did!

BB, trees and water form the elements of our being. We are of them, with them and drawn to them by forces we cannot understand. Revel in it, let them fill and refill you as often as you can with their majesty. I hope someday you get the chance to see the Coastal Redwoods by the mighty Pacific. A combination created by the hands of time and the strength and power of nature that replenishes the very essence of who we are in the ultimate configuration of life, the universe and everything (nod to Doug Adams, RIP).

These are beautiful photos BB…you know as soon as I saw the one with the little creek I swear I could hear the water! I’m weird like that!!!
The snow among the tree trunks looks so soft and powdery…looks like it would be a real shame if it was disturbed.
BB…maybe this time we might get a snow photo or 2 on your calendar? Last year your snow photos were from the USA…but this year they are totally Aussie…you think maybe? 🙂
    Looking forward to more pics…
