Uni-eek!

Things are pretty much never quiet or boring around here – especially if you have neighbours like ours.  If you aren’t already aware, I should explain that my cousins grew up on the property alongside ours, and return most years for the Christmas-New Year period.

They are a lively bunch of people, and have each married an equally active partner … which ensures lots of fun and fresh air when we all get together.

This year, my cousin Bee’s husband, Dee bought a unicycle. (For himself)

If you have every attempted to ride one, you will know it’s not nearly as easy as those clowns make out!  Let’s just say my aunt’s clothesline (Hills Hoist) is not in the same shape it enjoyed prior to Christmas!).  While we were down by the river yesterday, we watched as the boys attempted to stay atop this crazy mode of transport (yet again)…

Jay used to be a rodeo clown…

But the title didn’t help him.  (Look closely, he’s already blown a thong/flip-flop!)

This is Dee. Dee is very detirmined. He has spent hours trying to master the unicycle.

There were plenty of impressed onlookers (including my husband!)

He made it a good 40 metres this time…

It still didn’t look easy, mind you…

But he blew everyone else away.

Inspiring other newcomers to give it a crack…

Amazing…

Total distance achieved: 2cm.

  2. Such a weird thing for where you live. Elegance score on a uni cycle, 0. Effort, ten out of ten.

I see the “Sundance Kid”, got into the act also, that is he, “TOH”, or vv?
Maybe Aust. Movie producers should be sent this clip. The Aussie version, and you could be Katharine Juliet Ross, you do have a resemblance.
You, up there, certainly know how to work and enjoy yourselves.
Hope all for 2013 is all that you wish for.
    Cheers

  4. I think it is all to do with the footwear – perhaps they need to contemplate more security in their grip to the pedal? Scientific analysis required.

  5. bwahahahahaaa! I love the amazed look on Mr I’s face! No shortage of fun times at Granite glen. Wonderful thing to be surrounded by extended family! I laughed when I saw another ‘bush babe’ snapping pictures in the background.

  6. We nearly bought one of these for Christmas. We decided the hospital trip wasn’t worth it. Now I wish we did buy one, looks so much fun!~
