Colour scheme v domestic fail

My husband is not a man that concerns himself with sartorial elegance.

As long as it fits and it covers the vital regions, he’s pretty happy. This is fine (and suits me perfectly) until I go and take photos of him to share with the world… then I realise just how shabby my domestic skills really are.

I iron only when necessary and mend when absolutely essential. (I do like to have empty laundry baskets and am a washing fiend – but it’s all downhill from there!)

I admit I did shudder a bit seeing the tear in this shirt.  But then I consoled myself with the fabulous MATCHING hues elsewhere in the photo.

LOOK how that weathered timber in the yards and Mr Incredible’s pretty steed are almost identical…

And the posts. And the complementary green of the grass…

Oh look! A log and silver-trunks of blue gums to complete the scene.

There is a real skill on focussing on the positive, isn’t there?

Ha ha … I don’t think I make it as a domestic goddess either. Love your pointing out of the matching hues. Did you know that even the colours of Mr Incredible’s clothing match in nicely as well. Also the tears and rips well they just add character and show that they are WORKING clothes not town ones.

Don’t they offer up iron on patches in Oz?

I think you should have just panned out to bring the vast blue sky into the picture and comment on how well Mr. I’s shirt matched with that. Who’d have noticed that teensy tinesy little tear?

Rips, tears and stains just add character. I have to believe that. My hubby is a roofer who also lives on a little farm. He destroys clothing as if it were his primary occupation. What doesn’t have iron-red mud or poo on it, is covered in tar, with accents of motor oil or blood.

That said, you’ve inspired me to find the complimentary colors in my world.

I like the way you think. You most certainly have your priorities straight. Colors, composition and focus. Yep. Mr. I. looks comfortable and relaxed. No need to get all in a knot over a little shabby chic.
