Cattle for Calendars – POLL #1

Right… are you ready to get your Decision Making mojo on?

It’s BB of Oz Calendar Selection Time for the 2014 edition.  Please keep in mind that I HAVE already whittled the options down dramatically and done my best to keep them in categories.  Hey I’m here to help. Heh.

So here are the CATTLE option for Poll Number 1:

sunsetcow_7886 c eSUNSET COW – taken while driving through the paddock late one afternoon last week, checking for newborns.  This mama was on her own on a ridge and (I suspect) will have ‘popped’ by now.   The sun was doing that Halleluja thing I love so much!

water_3736 eSHARING THE TROUGH – Snapped from my horse while moving weaners a couple of months ago, with dogs and cattle alike deciding they were thirsty and (momentarily) sharing the trough.

muster_3487 eLINEUP KIDS – Weaner bulls proving they could handle their first walk out like old pros, lead out by Callum in the distance.

muster_2709 e

REDS’ MUSTER – A shot taken during the mustering in July, with our red commercial cows walking down the road past a gorgeous eucalypt trunk with Mr I riding the wing.

weaning_2538 e

BLACKS’ MUSTER – Some stud cows heading for the yards to have their big calves weaned, with Mr I on Cherokee pushing them along.

calf_8002 e

HELLO BABY – A spanking new baby Brangus calf watched very closely by a protective Mama (taken last week).

bayleaf_8191 eBAYLEAF THE BRIDE – One of the biggest characters on Granite Glen, Bay Leaf the ex-poddy and half dairy cow, after getting herself thoroughly tangled in the vegetable patch netting. She waited patiently for me to untangle her…

boys_7746 c eBOYS WILL BE BOYS – Feeling their grain (and their hormones) a couple of two-year-old bulls have a ‘playful fight’ at feed time.  (Where playful = you wouldn’t want to be in the middle of THAT).

I know – very different kinds of shots really, but you CAN choose your top three

Vote in the poll below, then see results once you are done!

Not that it helps to know, but yes, I do happen to know a little bit about how it could feel to be in the middle of that last one. I have just one steer, about a year and a half old, and Thursday evening he decided I needed to play with him. Hard-headed does not begin to describe him. Been nursing my bruises ever since.

All great shots, I enjoy all the glimpses into your world!

Your camera opens for me a world that I would have no way to even visualize much less actually visit without your help. Thanks for the chance to vote on the calendar. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to enjoy one this year…

Thanks, Amanda, for all you do to show us the beauty of your home.

How’re Mom and Dad doing? Are they still abroad? Did they visit the new little Prince George while in the area?
Lynda M O´s last blog post ..Changes are Afoot

Folks back safe and sound thanks Lynda… I don’t believe they sighted Prince George but apparently Dad did the ABC (All the Bloomin’ Castles!). LOL.

    Voted!
    1. Lineup Kids
    2. Hello Baby
    3. Bayleaf, the Bride ( last one for the comic lovers, it is quite funny.)

Actually, all photos are worthy of inclusion.
    You sure make it hard!

Yep, how are the folks doing in Europe?
I doubt if seeing “baby George” would have been a priority!

As usual too many good piccies to chose from…..love the boys butting heads and the bride is for the “comicness” of cattle

    Excellent as always
