Moments in the sun…

One of the hazards of being me, is that I regularly bite off more that I can chew.

I have the most marvellous intentions and then realise that WHOOPS that calendar is ALREADY full.  So lots of things get ‘stowed for later on’.  Among these things are photographs that I shoot, that I look at briefly, try to quickly work and resize ready for sharing online, and then… Life rudely intervenes in my social media activity!

Anyway, earlier this week I took a series of photos on the way home from taking Violet into her netball training in town (120km round trip).  My kids are now used to me suddenly swerving to the side of the road for 27 seconds to snap off a couple of photos before resuming our journey.  This particular trip required several such brief stops…

For some reason, everything was just MAGICAL this particular afternoon…
sunset_5688 eI have barely done anything to these photos – this Brahman steer (belonging to a neighbour) just posed for me with the sun behind him.

sunset_5690 eJust 300 metres on from the steer, across open paddocks of buffel grass…

sunset_5692 eTwo kilometres on, a mill as we rounded the corner towards home…

sunset_5695 eAnother couple of k’s and my two favourite bottle trees pose with our hills in the distance below a molten sky…

And then, after hurriedly picking up the mail, the final blast of light through winterish clouds over our river…
sunset_5713 eI thought I had missed it, the light was so low.  But apparently not.

There are many hundreds of images I don’t share here.  But (as soon as I saw them I knew) this magical few kilometres of shooting demanded to be shown…

Hope you enjoyed them as much as me!

🙂

Well I certainly enjoyed them. You know, it’s getting about that time you should start thinking “calendar”. I’ve seen several from you lately that would be good candidates. 😉

Just adding something else to your busy schedule, I know… but you’ve spoiled us with the expectation of a calendar each year!

It is magical. I love beautiful evenings like this although I miss seeing them and the wide open sunset skies. Beautiful and how lucky that the cow posed for you. I love those trees as well. It is definitely a crimson sky.

‘Salina came home from camp yesterday and admits to about 240 additional photos in her ipad.

I wonder where she got that from.

BTW – she also got many shots of that sunset from her camp perspective.

All of those pics are sensational! I haven’t been stopping by often enough I see. Like you always say, other things just seem to get in the way
