Wedding weekend: all in the details
I went to a wedding this week. It was wonderful… filled with love and laughter and tears of joy and relief. Mostly my tears, I might add. And my relief. As the speeches began marking the end of my designated role in the day: chief photographer. I mentioned last post how that particular job affects me – I cried like a baby.
…
I pretended it was about the poignant memories described by each speech-maker (OK, some of the sobs were generated by my tugs on my heartstrings due to close ties with those being honoured). But it was not great for my image as a cool, calm and sophisticated photographer. My self-image anyway…
…
I survived the “ordeal”… with a tall, blonde, lithe gorgeous bride and her intense, dark handsome husband, my job was really pretty easy. They looked stunning and the event was magical.
…
I took hundreds of images – most of which you will never see. After all, these moments belong not to me, but to my cousin and her new husband.
But I don’t think they’ll mind if you see one or two of the details of the day.
Some of the snapshots of the tiny touches which make a wedding special and unique…
The intimate additions which mean so much and add that personal finishing touch…
And totally stop your heart when you least expect it.
…
Must away… the Sandman waits for this tired photographer Mummy too..

Oh, your pictures are lovely. It must be great fun to finally be able to sit down and look at them. Good job, photog!
