The Bush

Black and (green and blue and) white photos

Short and sweet today…
(after a not-so-sweet kinda week)
I’ve been sharing fire photos recently…
and thought some after photos might be interesting…

Short green grass poking it’s leaves through the blackened clumps of burned grass – sweet nectar to grazing cattle (and the odd roo too!).

And because I am a wildly impractical creature, some scenes of the patterns caused by the paddock-burning going on in this corner of the world…

Love those colours…

PS You will be delighted to know I’m offering something other than burning photos next post! So if you are over black scenery and very strange photos of horse’s ear hairs, please stay tuned…

I just love it when the grass grows back on dead land. Around here, in the hottest part of the summer, we have accidental fires (cigarettes thrown out of windows, etc.) alongside of our freeways. The grass is always blackened. But a few months later, after some rain and more sun,the grass grows back new and green. It always amazes me!

I love the pictures of your red dirt roads.

When our cars go down a dusty road they get all brown dirt on them. I’d love to see a picture of what that color dirt does to your car and wheels

Can next week be red week?

I love these photos. Did you know your dirt looks very much like Oklahoma dirt? Our Kansas dirt is mostly a dull brown, but Oklahoma has the most lovely dirt. It’s not so lovely trying to get it out of the kids clothes after a camping trip there though. You might as well have clothes set aside just for camping in Oklahoma. You can even get red dirt shirts that are purposely dyed using Oklahoma dirt!
