Violet and her (furry) boys

This slideshow shows a series of shots taken this week when Violet tried to take our (non) adventurous Great Dane puppy Axel to meet Rob Roy, the (non) enormous equine terrorising our houseyard boundaries!
Firstly, Axel sat in our 4-year-old’s lap as she chatted to him about climbing trees and riding horses and Barbie Dolls. Then the puppy and his human approached the shaggy shetland (who has momentarily halted eating). As you can see Axel was a tad less enthusiastic about the encounter than his bold owner. The second horse is Cherokee, one of Mr Incredibles steeds. He’s gorgeous and snorts a lot (the horse, I mean).
D’ya like the slideshow… please bear with me as I work out this new (for me) application. Sizes still a bit haphazard, but you get the drift.
Now if you will excuse me, I have to chase Rob Roy and his followers out of the houseyard AGAIN!

So cute! Love the slideshow, it looks great. Axel is sooo dang big! I love that he is afraid of a horse that he is almost as tall as. And i love how brave Violet is. I mean i’m sure Cherokee is really nice but she looks so tiny next to him!

The slideshow worked perfectly. Great shots. I just keep looking at the feet on that dog and wondering if it’s gonna match the size of one of your horses when it’s full grown?

I really like your Picasa slide show. It’s a great way to incorporate your photos without taking a lot of page space.

In the northern US we are coming into summer, so you guys must have winter coming on. Rob Roy appears to be quite the butter ball. We’ve had our share of overweight miniature horses. Ponies, especially, tend to put on weight going into the winter. Does he take it off again by summer?

If not he might be at risk of laminitis. Please be aware of something called Equine Metabolic Syndrome. We have a mustang mare that we rescued that has long suffered laminitis. It’s not something I’d wish on any horse or owner. There is a very good article about Equine Metabolic Syndrome in ponies at http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/horsecare/397/64491.html

My intention isn’t to scare you, but just let you know about the problem in ponies if you didn’t already know.

    I enjoy your blog.

The slideshow worked great, it was really fun! Great pictures, so cute, little Violet in her boots. And that pony, oh dear, he is SO stinkin’ cute and chunky! 🙂 I’ve never seen anything like it! Before long, I have a feeling Axel will soon be taller than Mr. Rob Roy…

Love the slideshow – tells a great story 🙂
Violet is one gorgeous little character. The pic of Alex sitting in her lap is my favourite.

I really like your new banner. But I find that I don’t enjoy the jams I get myself into any better than I enjoy life’s prickles. Just saying. Violet is so adorable, and I get a kick out of the expression on Axels face. The one shot of him with his dewlaps flapping just slayed me. I have been trying to leave a comment on your blog and have not been able to, so am trying again. Don’t you wish me a happy autumn. No way. Nononononononono! I need just a little summer to thaw me from last winter.

Love the way your Slideshow tells the Story… your little Horsewoman shows a great deal of promise with ALL things furry… A Joy to See.

Axel is getting so big. He’s adorable. Violet is a lucky girl to have all those furry boys. She looks like she knows it, too.

I really like the slideshow! Your new banner looks great, too.

I’m still trying to get over that butterball of a shetland, LOL. Axel is as cute as ever! (Violet, too, of course…)
