Weather check…
It’s bleak this morning. A real winter’s day.
Dash’s smart royal blue and white uniform is buried beneath his thick parka and tracksuit pants. He is off to the big town sports day – where his sister and I will meet him soon. He is kind of excited, kind of chilled. I rub his little hands briskly as he leaves the house. He smiles, distracted by the imaginings of his races-to-come.
…
My nose is red-edged from the cold and the coughing cold which I cannot seem to shake. Violet is oblivious to the temperature, as only a four-year-old can be. All she cares about is her denim skirt and favourite brown boots. Four-going-on-24.
…
The thermometre in our heated kitchen reads: 7 degrees celsius.
And another cold wind is working it’s way up outside, detirmined to peel the skin from cheeks.
Moisturiser seems to vanish within seconds from my skin.
Me, who battles the olive-skin oil nemisis in summer, cannot keep my hands from scaliness.
I am not a Winter fan. I am keen for Spring.
For rain. For warmth.
So there we have it:
Clear, cold, dry and windy.
…
Tell me, internet friends,
what is Mother Nature doing to you,
in your part of the world today?
Hot or cold?
Kind or cruel?
And what is your favourite season?
…
I really look forward to reading what you guys are experiencing when I get back – windburned and bleary-eyed – from cheering my son on. And telling my daughter to get off the running track. And blowing my nose.
*hooonk!*

Here on the Gold Coast it's sunny but quite 'nippy'…
I can't say I like the winter one bit… Turn up the heat!!!
Here's hoping you managed to cheer Dash on without too much coughing….Oh yes, and hope Violet managed to stay clear of the running track.

Not a fan of Winter either, BB – had a zero degree night here in Adelaide last week – yep, roll on, Spring.

I'm in the US, in Virginia. It was 32c here today, first really hot humid day we've had this summer, seems odd to read that you are so cold today. Just started reading you blog a little while ago and really enjoy it. Your pics are great and it was really neat to see Brisbane in addition to your farm. tfs, Maureen

Heat warning here at our place

Here in Arkansas we have already seen 103F (~39C) with a humidity of 80% and higher.
Every year I am forced to ask my self, "Why, WHY do I still live here. . . ?"
You can forget hair and makeup, that's for sure.
If only we could share each other's weather. . .

I'm in north-central Alberta, Canada, and we are stll getting frost warnings in certain areas, in the middle of what is supposed to be summer. Today, it was +28C and yet it goes down to only +3 overnight. I, too, ask myself continually, "Why again do I live here?!?!?"…6 months of winter, and the rest of the year the mosquitoes'll kill ya. Sheesh. I will seriously have to reconsider what keeps me here.

Hi BB, We have beautiful, blue skies. The temperature is perfect for sitting on the porch in the soft, warm breeze. After surviving another winter of blizzards and darkness—NOW is the time I know why I live here. Best wishes on the track meet and conquering that cough.

being as we get to be polar opposites from you the weather is quite nice. lately it's been cool and rainy, just the way i like it. it's been warming up. it's only 14 C right now, but the next few days will be in the 25-31 C range. a bit too warm for me.

Yep. EFFING cold down here too. I wore a COAT to school today. A COAT! The most I usually wear to school is a cardi over a t shirt.

Very cold here this morning – and didn't heat up much during the day.
I hope Dash went well and Violet reined in her need for speed!!

Hotlanta has been cooling off a bit – supposed to be in the high 80s today. We've climbed down from the 90s we had for a while. But, BB, as you know I am joyfully preparing to move to Iowa, where I will have real snow and cold in the winter! I LOVE cold weather! Oh, Atlanta gets its share of cold, we've had major blizzards and lots of ice storms. But not often. Stuff goes on the truck this weekend, so this might be my last post for a while. I'll talk to you from Iowa!

We've had some relief from 100+ degree temperatures in the last few days. 80s and 90s feel cool after a heat wave with the heat index around 106. Fall is my favorite season, and we don't get nearly enough of it here in Kansas. It seems to go from summer to winter too quickly.

Ah, 30 C for today… 33 C for tomorrow's kid's rodeo… seemingly always the hottest day! I'll be there with my camera… come on over to see some of our kids on horseback!

Here in Tucson, Arizona, USA, it is currently (9:15 a.m.)31.7 C and sunny. The projected high is 42.2 C. At least it isn't Phoenix, where they get a lot higher temps.

I'm in Arkansas and yesterday it was (according to my trusty F to C converter) 38.8 C! (with lots of humidity) A big electrical storm blew through last night(and I mean BLEW) and today's temp is only about 30 C. A nice change!!
I like all the seasons, but really prefer warm to cold.
