Landscapes and lists
So I’m trying to work out a few of the bugs here at my spanking new blog… it’s kinda like asking a toddler to fine-tune the Lambourghini, if you know what I mean? Well, maybe not a Lambourghini, maybe just a Volvo. The chances of the job being effectively completed are pretty similar either way.
Issues noted so far:
- The Friends/Followers gadget thing doesn’t want to work. Sure all my sweet readers faces are there (and how I love seeing them all when I load up my blog). But can they see my new posts in their readers? No. Apparently not. Darn it all. If anyone knows a fix for this, I’d be keen to know about it. (And then I shall hot-potato it on to a guy I know, who knows about Lambourghinis …and Volvos… and blog stuff.)
- The texts take a while to convert over to my fancy font in the headlines for each post. I know, I know, I should be happy with the standard ones. But you know me… I just like it the way I like it. The question is: can you put up with it?
- It’s another click to get to see an entire post. I realise this slows things down a little, but hope the little overview on my new ‘front page’ gives readers a choice – if you’ve missed a post you can easily see it. If you want to wander through ALL recent posts, just click on ALL YARNS. Everything is now being filed under that category to allow a full view of my blathering. And if you want to cut to the chase and you just like (say) Weather stuff, then you can immediately head there. Simple. Sorta. Capice?
I promise to quit the navel/new blog gazing shortly. And get back to sharing slices of my life…
And pondering this kind of thing:
Wondering if I should enter something like this at Ree’s Landscape Assignment this week?
Or this?
Or this?
Or even this?
Anything rather than thinking about blog conundrums.
So it’s over to you…
Thoughts?
Advice?
Anything?
🙂

Number one or number two. Either one is a winner, but that’s just my humble opinion.
And your blog? A winner. I surely don’t mind the extra click to get inside the rest of a post. Sheesh!

I would enter the tree.
Any thoughts on how to get our avatars to appear here with our comments like on blogger? I much prefer to see everyone’s pictures to all those little anonymous icons.

I’m really wondering if your new site isn’t playing well with Opera (10.51). There’s a lot of weird things happening. Of course, your priorities should remain with IE and Firefox as they are much more popular. Once they are happy, check out Opera.

Number one and number two are (IMHO) great shots that meet the criteria for ‘landscape’. Go ‘frit.

I’m just impressed that you can spell lambourg– whatever the car is!
The avatar settings are under that Settings>Discussions thingy as well as what we were twittering about last night. Well, on my stock standard wordpress blog dashboard anyway.
Now to see if I get remembered like other wordpress blogs remember me!

nup, it doesn’t. Guess it’s because you’re a special wordpress blog!!

I tried to help you last night, sorry I am not much good at it.
I can’t get google followers at all on my wordpress blog, and never could – so if you can do it, let me know what you did!

Oh to live around such awesome landscapes…I love, Love, LOVE the cowboy pic, and is that your son? He looks as curious as my boys, just wondering what’s in that flow of water and what’s on the other side.
As for your pc woes, I am absolutely hopeless to help. I can barely help myself. Thanks for visiting and do come again.
