Honey, we’re home!
We have just arrived home after three-and-a-bit fabulous days away with friends…
We covered around 1600 km, talked a LOT, laughed a WHOLE LOT, looked at HEAPS (we stayed near a place called Dingo and visited Ag Grow during our big ‘holiday’) and LOVED every second of it. And now we are home – and while it’s lovely seeing friends and having our kids romp around joyously for three days with their much-missed mates (hello Harv, Elle, Mada and Em) – it is good to see those granite hills again.
And our house.
And our garden (as terribly neglected as it is)…
I took these shots before we left on our trip…
Isn’t lavendar one of the MOST amazing plants – certainly tough and forgiving.
Kind of an essential trait to have if a plant is to survive in my garden…
And our Granite Glen bees are BUSY around the lavendar, despite the fact it is mid-winter here.
I have no macro lense, but these bees were pretty patient with me shooting at very close range…
I love this shot – a bee with the job ahead of him.
(A bit like me and my mini mountain of unpacking – yikes!)
All the animals were especially pleased to see us – including one very bouncy Great Dane…
Axel Rooooose!! The rose amongst the lavendar…
He has missed four days worth of reassurance and patting from his Mama.
I suspect that chore will quickly rise above the last one mentioned in my ‘to do’ list this afternoon!
🙂

Axel is such a beautiful dog, although I can’t imagine having a dog that big in my house, I’ve always secretly wanted a Dane!

Welcome back – I’ve missed you! Knocked on your door every day…
Love the bee shots, but I especially liked seeing Axel’s mug again.

Glad you had a great trip. Looks like Mr. Roooose is happy to see you’re back–at least I think he looks happy. Hard to tell, but the ears say a lot.
I love the photos of your garden and dog. Interesting that your lavendar/er is in the same stages of growth as mine here in the northern hemisphere.
And I looked up the spelling thing for that flowering shrub. I thought maybe it was a British/American thing like color-colour. But my online dictionary says:
Common name: lavendar (obsolete spelling), lavender. Obsolete. Yeah, just like a lot of other junk in my head.

Poor Axel, standing there at the lavendar while his long-away mother photographs bees! You’ve got a lot to make up for. Let the petting begin!
Glad you had a nice trip!
