Ekka snap 3: Tattoo parlour
The Henna Tattoo parlour/tent was among the irrestistable venues at the Ekka for us last week.
The very pretty henna artist decorated Violet’s arm with a gorgeous flower…
And Dash chose a kind of warrior symbol for his skin art. Well, that’s what she told him.
And he was pretty happy with the ‘meaning’ of his tattoo… he’s SUCH a boy sometimes!
The trick with henna is keeping it on for a long time to fully ‘stain’ your skin before the henna flakes off…
Violet’s flower is still going strong… Dash’s ‘warrior’ symbol however, vanished days ago!

i got a henna body painting done years ago. how long it remains on the skin depends a lot on a person’s body chemistry and complexion as well as how long one is able to allow the henna to sit.
i remember ages ago, boy got one at a street fair. how he cried when it started flaking off as it dried. it wasn’t until we got home later in the day that he saw the stain was still there. it lasted nearly a week.

I think that the placement of Dash’s ‘tattoo’ would also be a factor. You don’t have a lot of things rubbing on the back of your arm. On the inside of your arm, you’d be rubbing it off while carrying stuff, or the like. You know, those kids are quite grown since you first began blogging.

I got a henna tattoo once. I think I was about 16. I must’ve taken years off my Dad’s life when I showed it to him…
So what did you get?

Too cute.
We had a great day at the Ekka, although it was VERY crowded on Saturday.
I had a moment when scoffing a stawberry Sunday and looking over the main arena.
