Lists and sunshine…
Hello… helllllooooooo… anyone still out there?
Tis I, Bush Babe. The one-time regular blogger who has been run over by the proverbial Freight Train of Life.
It’s not that I’m not doing interesting stuff – I am.
It’s not that I’m not taking photos of it all – I am.
It’s not that I don’t WANT to blog some of it – I do.
It’s just that… my hours:day ratio is just not BIG enough.
Take now for instance. It’s 10.15 pm Granite Glen time. We have been mustering today- so the chore list goes a little like this:
I’ve been catering, riding, cajoling, coaxing, ignoring, shooing-up, blocking-up, loading, unloading, feeding, hosing down, swimming, cooking, dining, wining, cleaning up, updating (various mothers of our young visiting musterers)…
Basically all things every Mum on any cattle property anywhere does on a busy mustering day.
But as it’s the one and only VIOLET’s birthday tomorrow, I’ve also been:
Ferreting through a thousand Christmas gifts to locate her birthday offerings, wrapping, baking birthday muffins/cakes and designing (a card).
Actually I have yet to do the last thing on that list.
Which is what I SHOULD be doing now instead of blogging…
-0000000000000000-
Here’s a little something to remind you that underneath all these lists, I am still here.
It’s a snap I took while we were innoculating calves today…
Recognise this cow?
Maybe a closer view.
It’s K114.
Tuffy’s Mum. The most amazing Brangus mother ever. I think she made most of us well up just a little when things got rough around this time last year (go on, admit it!). If you look at the first photo you will see that, 12 months on, she has a new boy in her life – another gorgeous little black bull.
Talk about sunshine after rain!
🙂

Our amazing cow is 206. Last year she had her calf and also mothered two poddies. You can sit with her when she is lying down, sit on top of her when she is standing and the kids call her bub. She is a true gem.

I am the only amazing cow around here.
Seriously.
