BB Mystery (3)
Okay, okay… can I confess something?
I have been playing silly games for about 5 days now.
I have been stealthily scheduling my posts to cover my tracks.
And going quiet on Facebook.
And even closing down the tweets on Twitter.
(Aside: Social Network, another plane movie viewed en route, is not a bad flick although Justin might want to go easy on the Oscar speech rehearsals).
Anyway, I have a really good reason for this cloak-and-dagger carry on. I know you’ll forgive me for my Maxwell Smart impersonations.
But first…
Want to know where the last featured photo was taken?
Not the Great Divide (the only mountain range anywhere near Granite Glen).
Not the Snowy Mountains. There’s snow on them there mountains and the only mountains on the east coast of Australia likely to have snow on them – Aussie like to be obvious when they name things.
The mountains in that photo are somewhere near …Denver.
You know, Colorado.
U.S.A.
Seriously.
Actually the plane travel path is showing that we are somewhere near Garden City. (And I don’t think it means the shopping mall in Brisbane.)
Violet is loudly singing along with Dora the Explorer playing on her little plane screen (6-year-olds don’t get the whole headphone-hearing versus normal-hearing contrast). She just giggles when I tell her to hush. Luckily the plane is reasonably empty and no fuddy-duddies are sitting nearby to scowl.
My husband is pointing out landmarks as we go (causing many pauses in Due Date) – the Mississippi was particularly spectacular.
Now…can you guess where we are headed?
HINT: I have ALWAYS dreamed of going to this place.
HINT: We all have our winter woollies on, although I expect the climate and the culture to provide us with a bit of a shock to the system.
HINT:This place also holds the reason I have been all Sherlock Holmes on ya.
But I will tell you about that in the next post.

Garden City, Kansas is east of Denver. Oklahoma is south of Kansas. Denver is a hub, so you might be switching airplanes there and then flying–could it be?–to Tulsa or OKC. You know who lives between those two cities, don’t you? Am I right? Am I? The only thing that makes me really wonder is that you said you’ve “always” wanted to visit there. “Always” since when? Hmmm…

Are you going to see the Pioneer Woman!? You would transit through Chicago to somewhere in Oklahoma if you were – depending on which airline you’re flying…

Hehe, I just had to write a quick note about the obvious place names. There are TWO Sierra Nevadas in the world. Yup, you guessed it, ‘Sierra Nevada’ translates to ‘Snowy Mountains’. So it’s not just Aussies then 🙂
