Blokes and body language
I am a people watcher. I admit it. I get a kick out of observing actions and reactions and interactions.
And the people I love watching the most are my family.
Mr Incredible, the man I fell in love with about 16 years ago, married just over a decade ago and am still trying to figure out to this day, is not an open book. Ask anyone – he plays his cards very close to his chest. And his Dad is a bit the same. They sometimes get a little overwhelmed by my family who are all ‘Guess what!’ and ‘Did you know that?’ and ‘I have this opinion’ and ‘Did you take this into consideration…‘ and contentedly talk over each other all the time. (My husband and his Dad: ‘What’s happening?’ ‘Not much.’)
But sometimes, I think, it doesn’t take lengthy conversation to illustrate real interaction between two people.
Especially when those two people happen to be Aussie blokes who like short conversations.
For instance, this scene tells me that a man and his grown son are on the same page, content with each other’s company as they busy themselves saying very little.
And this one tells me that one bloke is preparing to say something, something probably not very long but undoubtedly well thought-through, while the other is settling in nicely to listen to it.
But mostly these two scenes tell me that a Father and Son just like being on their own together.
And you probably don’t need to know them at all, to know that is exactly as it should be.

Worth two thousand words. (jealous of the shorts-weather and the beach view)

Those photos speaks volumes…even if the men themselves don’t.

Anyone looking on would guess that relationship. Even without words. I love it.

Do you think one day it might be your husband and your own son one day standing in a similar manner?

Oh I do hope so. Although if you know my son, you will know that the conversation may be a tad more animated!!! (My influence, I’m afraid).

I love these photos. What a wonderful moment to catch of father and son.

Takes me back to a time when I was a kid, riding with my Mom, Grandma and sister in a car behind my Dad and Grandpa. Dad was driving his car, but one of his and both of Grandpa’s hands were waving animatedly as they had a lively conversation! No quiet contemplation in my family!!!
