Dreamy Droplets #1

I took these shots late yesterday afternoon… a few hours after soft drizzling rain set in here at Granite Glen.

Nothing is as gorgeous as raindrops on dry, thirsty paddocks.  And gardens. And in rainwater tanks…

And seeing as how I recently remembered how awesome my little 50mm Nikon lens is, I whacked it on the camera body and snapped a little.  Trying to get the chains of droplets overflowing our gutters…

The rain was light so I took a stroll around the yard, trying to capture some of the hovering beads of water on the leaves.

Loved the dreamy effect of this … but still I think I need a macro… don’t you? 😉

The water dribbling over the oiled railings on the deck…

Lachy bringing Dad’s new mare to the old yards behind our house. Axel is helping.

(He’s not helpful. He’s just big and silly. Which is partly why I love him!).

Something I won’t be needing for a few days… yippee!

So far 28mm and counting.

I ♥ rain.

Can you tell?

Glad you got a good wetting – I used to love the smell of rain coming, the smell of it hitting dry ground and going to stand out in it after endless hot,dry weather. However, our corner of Scotland ‘grows’ rain and water and my enthusiasm is for rain has been thoroughly dampened.

I loved your rain pictures. I could almost imagine being out in the warm rain. Here it is cold and damp, and not a rose to be seen.

I’ll simply sit here with a daydreaming sort of smile on my face and enjoy these pictures.

    (As opposed to cleaning windows…)

Ah glorious rain. Brisbane has had good soaking stuff for the last 36 hours and still drizzling. Not too good for cricket, eh? Mr “I” might have more than one hangover with his mates????
Great to know that you are getting the same soaking stuff up your way.
    Cheers

Okay, so I totally had to take a second look at the photo of Axel!! I glanced at the photo, read the caption and thought to myself that the new BLACK horse was being led to it’s new home. Then did a double take and realized that the black horse is actually Axel. Wow, he’s huge!
    Lovely photos, as always.
    Thank you for sharing them!
