Alice winners and Good Friday
Well HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY everyone!
I know it’s possibly not yet Friday where many of you live, but I can assure you (as one of those lucky people who get an early look at the date i.e. Australian) that it looks like a cracker day so far. Our traditional smoked salmon and poached eggs have been imbibed and I am girding myself for a few hours mowing to work it off.
I want you to know that the lovely Alice (author of this book which many of you are so keen to get your hands on) has been a very busy lady with her nationwide launches – dealing with media panting for her attention – but has taken time out to choose three lucky winners from my ‘Educating Alice’ book giveaway.
Here is my note from Alice this morning (penned at 1am after a particularly successful Queensland book launch!):
I loved all the questions, however these are the winning entries:
1. What gave you the courage or incentive to share your story?
Anne (Farmer for a Weekend)
2. What would Alice say is Rick’s best quality, and what would Rick say is Alice’s? And what personality trait leaves some, ahem, wiggle room for improvement? Also, because I can’t stop at one (same thing goes for potato chips) – what piece of marital advice would you give newlyweds? My husband and I, happy and still together after 30 years, keep getting asked this question.
Pam, Canada (A Novel Woman)
3. Do you believe that a young girl can still “Go out West/up North” and have similar adventures as yourself? When my girls read your book, they will want to do all that you have done. Is the outback fairytale still achievable?
‘Vicarious’
Replies on their way … thanks to all who so generously participated and caused me to reflect. I love being made to think.
Happy Easter.
Alice
CONGRATULATIONS ‘Vicarious’, Pam and Anne!! I have emailed you all and will get those books in the mail next week. Thanks to everyone for taking part and asking so many great questions – don’t forget that Alice and Rick will be answering the winning questions (and a few more) soon too!
Before I sign off, I want to wish everyone a wonderful Easter …
Our little Easter bunnies sported home-made Easter-themed hats on their last day of Term 1 yesterday – do you like Violet’s little ‘nest’ hat?
We plan to stay close to home – with maybe some water-skiing and chocolate egg eating on the agenda. How about you?
Please stay safe over this holiday period.
