Calves being kids…
I adore this time of year…
Not for the temperatures (still chilly and frosty in the mornings)…
Not for the winds (which are snap-drying anything put on the clothesline – and anything that steps outside!)
And not for the hue of the countryside (which is usually tinder dry at this time of year, before Summer storm season)…
Can you see this little tyke?
Mum’s pretending not to see, cause she ‘parked’ her there…
Oh look – MORE than one parked! And popping up from the sea of dry grass…
Now WHICH one of you belongs to me?
*sniff sniff*
This way you young whipper snapper!
Don’t worry about the nosy humans… they soon get tired of their gawking!
Tuck in for a quick snack, that’s a boy.
Meanwhile, check out the cheeky one at the right of pic…
Mum’s attention is elsewhere…
Let’s see what I can get away with here…
Wheeeeee!!!!!!!
Whoop, whoop, wooooooooo!!!
Meanwhile, Mum is all…
Now LISTEN here miss… you nearly gave me a heart attack, running off like that!
(Can I get an ‘Amen’ for the Mamas in the audience who know exactly how this cow feels?)
And look….
HEAPS of little black babies…
Scattered in the warm morning sunshine, naps rudely interrupted by nosy humans….
So we took our noisy nosy selves off, basking in the memories of our first Brangus babies of 2015.
Never, EVER grows old.
*Sigh*

I love babies, too… at least of this variety. 😉
We had one crazy cow who I swear would sometimes forget where she hid her calf. I’ve noticed some are better mothers than others.
That frolicking calf photo is priceless!
