The Mail Run – by BB and Violet
We get mail twice a week here at Granite Glen.
Our lovely mail lady (who travels hundreds of kilometres each run) pokes our bundle of bills and papers into this old red cream can about one kilometre from the house.
It sits beside a little green shed – a multipurpose venue for parking bikes in (ours when we attended primary school a couple of decades ago… OK three decades ago…) for larger parcels, for calves seeking shade while their mothers forage, and even resting the occasional resting snake (yuh-huh!).
(I wonder what on earth is Violet doing in this shot?)
.
Anway, yesterday the shed was housing something pretty exciting, discovered when Violet and I did our bi-weekly mail check.
The boxes on the little bench.
Let’s see what’s in ’em…
The inaugural Beauty of the Bush calendars.
In boxes.
In the hot dusty old bike shed.
Near the calf poop.
Violet didn’t care – here she poses delightedly with December.
I am pretty happy with the product – its printed on really heavy paper which means it shouldn’t curl while hanging on your wall next year. I hate curly calendars, don’t you?
.
So I am about to attack the posting out side of this project.
Why don’t I let Violet take the last few photos of our parcel-pickup while I get organised?

Can't wait – update on my blog today – a massive dose of cuteness!!!
Kelly
Oh boy!! I'm excited, too!!
….and I'm glad to see the sweet little flowers Violet picked. I figured she was examining bugs.
Kate
So excited!! They are beautiful! And so is violet, love that last pic of the flowers 🙂
And i love that your dog food brand is Chum. That cracks me up for some reason. Might be that i'm watching a special on Great Whites in Australia right now. Well i guess they aren't technically IN Australia. More like off the coast of Australia. Anyway… way excited for the calendars!!!
Jayne
Ooooooo, can't wait!
You must be beside yourself with nervous excitement, BB! 🙂

Does the dog chow come in the mail? – Bill

Gorgeous post!!
Your comments on my blog MAKE my day. 🙂
I learned the digital scrapbooking in order to teach Adobe Photoshop Elements more easily… I joined the biggest and best and most friendly company – Digital Scrapbook Place nearly two years ago.

*snort!*
Dear heavens! I looked at the picture and then I read 'Violet's view of well stacked…' and for a brief second, I thought that you were talking about yourself.
BUSH BABE
Trace – it's on its way sister!!
Kate – the Chum is a cheaper brand that Axel is not all that impressed with. A handful of calf milk powder seems to improve its attractiveness however!
Gem – your cuteness almost made my teeth fall out!!! You calendar also in the mail!
Kelly – I hope like what you find (soon hopefully) in your mailbox…
Jayne – I am beside myself with nervousness that people will like them…
jeanie – DMing you about this! Impressing Salina is a MAJOR achievement!
The Accidental Housewife – yes you are… Violet even helped with the silver stickers…
Deb – I am proud of Violet. I am nervous about the calendars. I need to work on my confidence in my own product.
Mom L – "I assume Violet was picking tiny flowers for the cow skull?" They got lost en route home. The cow skull is now somewhere out in the paddock!
Mikey – Thanks!!!
Amanda – yep – reminds me that her view is not all that flash of her mother too!!
Anonymous – yes, our mail lady brings whatever I order from town. Its a FABULOUS service.
Leslie – thanks. Your gorgeous posts make MY day! And thanks for the tip…
Debby – good lord – didn't even THINK of that connotation! Its a wonder she knows my face from that angle…
Heather
Can I still order a calendar? Apparently I missed it. But I REALLY want one. It will be my Christmas present to me.
Are they sold out?
And, really big question, Can you ship to Canada?
BUSH BABE
Heather – EMAIL ME!!! (address in right column of blog).

Just in case you've a few more hits coming from the States… it might be do to this… http://blog.rimrockenglishshepherds.com/2009/11/23/the-bandwagon.aspx Probably not, as you do amazingly well on your own… but had to share. I am VERY impressed at the amount of calendars you've ordered! I'd order one, but seem to be a little unsure on the numbers I'll sell… so I'll probably end up with one of my own in every room!
Woman in a Window
Love that last shot especially. Love the mailbox too, and the fact that there is a metal shed there for all purpose. And you and your new calendar! Pretty darned nice, as well!
