Mail bounty…
I am feeling rather overwhelmed at the moment. Mostly by people’s generosity… it was my birthday yesterday and (I don’t know about you) but when you are forty-anything, you kinda expect a little less fuss. I had a cake (mostly baked by my darling daughter), dinner (cooked by my sweet husband and partly (the yellow-belly perch bit) caught by my clever fisherman son), a scarf and wine glass by two of my longest-serving (and most patient) friends, flowers from a neighbour and many, many phonecalls.
I felt very special.
Our mail deliveries, also, have brought some very special surprises. And not of the birthday-related variety.
Firstly two divine watercolours of horses, by talented painter (and regular blog commenter here) Leenie.
These were a ‘thankyou’ for a prize she won on the blog recently…I feel like I won too!
How gorgeous are they?
Violet has already put her order in for them to hang in her room… I shall have to place a special framing order with my talented cousin Em and get to and paint the kids’ rooms (a long-postponed project) to do them justice.
Please take a few moments to check out Leenie’s Etsy store for some more wonderful, peace-filled paintings of subjects from ocean and rural landscapes to birds, fish and flowers.
And of course horses! Here is another of my favourites, Down by the Dairy…
Fabulous!
And then a slightly heavier parcel was left in our green corrugated iron shed/mailbox…
Containing THREE books… I’m not showing you the front yet, as I work out what to do with them…
Here is a sneak peek at the back cover blurb.
Actually it’s a book I read (via my mini i-pad) last week and something I think pretty much EVERYONE needs to read.
A real-life romp from the city to the bush…
Hmmmm…
What do you think, my friends? Another giveaway coming on?
Will get myself sorted and discuss further shortly!!
🙂

Happy Birthday again just in case it didn’t go through on twitter. You probably figured out that I don’t have a clue and need to read the directions. I hate directions,I like to just jump in, LOL! The water colors are beautiful and the dairy was one of my favorites too after checking out her site. I have been to the Grand Tetons and she sure did a great job of catching the beauty they offer.
