The Calendar Vote-off continues
Gosh – you were helpful with my last choices of calendar contenders… what the heck would I do without y’all? I’d have to make decisions on my own, that’s what. And I would probably put my head and the sand and start humming. And then no-one would get a BB calendar.
Do you even know what I am rabbiting on about? (Check here if you are new to this blog and are wearing a puzzled expression at this point. It’s about a calendar of photos from this very blog – bush photos taken by an Aussie mum who’s in love with her part of the world).
Please note that I am leaving the first poll ( here) open until the end of the ‘polling period’ (when I feel like make the final decisions I guess – about a week or so?).
Are you ready for round two?
So I need you to vote (I am allowing two votes per person – but you have to choose both before you hit that ‘vote’ button in the poll at the end of this post) – which of the following shots do you think is a MUST HAVE for the 2011 Bush Babe calendar.
These are all road-and-view shots – I have a gazillion, but a fun fact is that FOUR of SIX images selected out below were taken on the same afternoon! And all were shot as my battery slowly died… how crazy is that? I was in a good on-the-edge, photo-taking mood that day…
The first of my four-in-a-row favourite road shots – taken after I spent an hour or so photographing bulls. The clouds are so wonderfully grey and promising rain, but the afternoon light is highlighting the details from the central part of the formation. And there is a red road. Nuff said.
rockytree
The second of the ‘good photo afternoon’ series. This is one of my favourite spots to take photos – the granite rocks and the tree that pushed up through them. One tough little tree! And those clouds again… Is there a name for a person who loves clouds? (Be nice!)
Taken just a couple of minutes and about a kilometre after the one above – I very nearly didn’t take this shot at all, thinking it was too late in the day. But I did anyway, and love the late-afternoon light wafting through the dust left by the Prado as I headed home. It’s kind of ethereal and magical…
dusktree
The last of my late March afternoon landscapes… I love the gentle matching sweeps of the grass, the horizon and matching cloud. And the mauve light. Isn’t afternoon light something else?
Red, green and blue – the colours of my day! (And the titles of one of the very first posts ever done on this blog!). It has bottle trees and I KNOW you lot love bottle trees. And did I mention the clouds? Fluff and whisp in this shot…
starkbottletree
Another ‘bottle tree with red road’ image – taken about one kilometre from the photo above, and facing south instead of north. It’s really stark and Mr Incredible loves this photo. To me, it’s very… stark. But then, so is Australia. So perhaps he’s right?
-*-*-*-*
Now remember – you can vote for TWO of the choices listed here (cause I have a feeling I might not be able to choose less than that for the calendar from this category)…
And remember that I will include ALL commenters in the draw for free prints at the conclusion of these calendar polls.
So what are you waiting for? Vote away, my friend!
Which ROAD PHOTO do you want in the 2011 BB CALENDAR?
- RED ROAD SKY (28%, 30 Votes)
- BOTTLE TREE ROAD (19%, 21 Votes)
- DUSK ROAD (18%, 20 Votes)
- ROCKY TREE (15%, 16 Votes)
- DUSK TREE (11%, 12 Votes)
- STARK BOTTLE TREE (9%, 10 Votes)
Total Voters: 63

They are just lovely! Love the bright colours in bottle tree road – especially the lush green grass…and the thought of how that brings so much life to so many things. Just precious 🙂

OK – the last two are my most favourite. Don’t make me choose between them!

Redroadsky and duskroad.
That first one looks like a Andrew Wyeth painting.

Ooh you tried to trick me with that whole different order in the votes to the order in the previews.
Gorgeous shots.

Just so’s y’all know… the poll seems to arrange itself by the most-voted-for to the least-voted-for. I did TRY to have the names in the same order originally. I promise!
🙂

Ahh… this time it was easy to pick two. They just jumped at me when I saw them. Nice!

Choices before breakfast. Arrrgh! Tough choices. I’m going for the red road and the big clouds. The bottle trees are cool and say “Bush Babe’s Auz” but I’m a sucker for late light and sunsets.

Okay, I really wanted to pick 3 of these and I tried but it wouldn’t let me. 🙂 I voted for Dusk Road and Stark Bottle tree. I wanted to vote for Dust Tree too. 🙂 This is a pretty hard task I hope you know. 🙂

I love your red dirt roads. Living in So. California I see lots of red rocks but your red dirt is an exquisite color.
This is fun helping you put the calendar together.

Ack! This was hard, BB! I chose Red Road Sky and Dusk Road, but I really wanted to also choose Dusk Tree. In the end, I chose the two I did because they looked less like here. I swear that Dusk Tree photo could have been taken in the pasture across the road from my house!

Did we have a choice of two in the first group?? Because now I’m wishing I had chosen the last photo instead of the one I did… As much as I love the dogs in the one I chose, I really like the little roo in the distance (and those red shirts) in the last photo.
Tough choices in this one, too, but I’m pleased with my votes.

Gah! So difficult. But I think I made the right decision. It turned out to be the most popular, too.

And we’re only allowed 2 votes?!
TWO votes???!!!
How on earth do you expect any sensible thing to emerge from us when we can’t choose between perfection and more perfection? 😛

They are all so pretty. Trying to pick ones that represent “Bush Babe” and the bush that she’s made me fall in love with though. It’s difficult!

Wow, these were really hard to pick just two. All of them are outstanding! You sure do not see that kind of beauty in the city. Makes me miss country life.
