Surprise!
WE did it!
Cara and Dylan and Tim and I managed to surprise the fabulous Debby (Life’s Funny Like That). And she hardly even swore at us at all…
Kidding about the swearing. Although whoever ‘GOSH’ is… she did take THEIR name in vain quite a bit!
Had a wonderful lunch with Deb, Tim, Cara and Dylan at John’s Pizza (awesome place, great pizza) and then explored some of the amazing NY city together. We alternately grinned, hugged, froze, watched kids decide on toys at FAO Schwatz, froze and hugged. Couldn’t have been better…
The Granite Glen crew are all now thoroughly exhausted. The kids are in bed, we are in ours and have the Comedy Channel on with the Starbucks coffee Mr Incredible bought to have with our New York cheesecake. Mmmmmm…
I’m also glad I don’t have to button my lip at this place anymore…

Holy dooley! I have been so busy – that busy I even had my computer turned off at the wall… (one small local campdraft to be blamed for that, but three days later we are done for another year!) and I check in tonight and WOW! Oh MY GOSH! I still cannot believe that this all came together. I spent the afternoon in a bit of shock. I kept looking over at the kids, or at BB or Mr. I and thinking, “Man. I just can’t believe this…”
Gotta say, the Granite Glen crew is exactly what I expected. BB wondered if it were a disappointment. Not at all. Not at all. The very nicest people you’d want to meet, and the kids were amazingly polite and well behaved, even though they must have been bored out of their little minds with all the chatter.
BB? Mr I? I will say it again…just the fact that you took an afternoon out of your vacation schedule to meet up with us…I’m touched. Now that the shock has worn off, I have a 1000 questions. I wailed in the car, “I WANNA DO-OVER….”
