Fabulous 14…
It’s my niece’s birthday today…
She belongs to my sister Jeanie, but I claim a part share… I was there at her birth 14 years ago and have closely watched (and regularly ‘been there’) as she has grown into a gorgeous young woman ever since. Salina has dark eyes and straight dark hair and olive skin. A lot like me. And like me, Salina adores horses … almost as much as her cousin, Violet!
I could totally steal her and no-one would know! (Well aside from anyone who actually knows us I suppose.)
I have actually threatened to do this on a number of occasions – my sister indulges me with a knowing smile, understanding that I am few years off being ‘ready’ to handle a teenage girl with any degree of motherly confidence… especially one that is a LOT like me! Heh…
So I have to settle for just being ‘Aunty Manda’ …and I adore this role to bits.
Especially when Salina comes for extended visits here as a semi-regular jillaroos at Granite Glen.
