The REAL “and the winner is…”

OK. I have it under control now.
That blinking “post options” bucked me off momentarily, but I dusted myself off and climbed right back in that saddle.
It weren’t aisy!
*spits hayseed out of mouth*
Of course, now I get to keep my originally posted winners and ADD to them…
Which is kinda good, as this contest was soooooooo hard to pick a winner in!
Let me first say that I undoubtedly have the FUNNIEST commenters in the WORLD.
(Not sure how I managed that little trick, but I’m taking full credit!)

The talent amongst my readers here makes it heaven to read my comments section (splutter tissues in hand), but hell to pick a winner from my silly Mystery Photo comps!
After much nail-biting and trauma, here are Mum’s comments:
OMG! Too many winners here to pick just one.
Hmmm… let’s see…
(gets out pin to find out where it lands to decide.)
After much consideration, and a few committee meetings and a lot of laughs, we think it will have to go to:
the didgeridoo holder,
closely followed by the elephants
and the dinosaurs
(I know, I know, she is ineligible, and so are you, Debby! I know you are going to be so disappointed your lovely goannas missed out! Now there’s an interesting panorama, now I come to think of it.)
Sorry all you other entrants, but thought it had to bear little relation to the truth.
Love Mum.
So that’s my Ma’s review of things, given due consideration as she packs for a weekend away with Dad… and added into my two-bob’s worth added in, the final winners are:
*insert very annoying drimroll here*
BIG SIS
didgeridoos, love epics and war scenes (Australia the movie, here I come!)
GEM
for her wonderfully-Aussie-themed story crammed with as many Strine-isms as I have ever heard, leading dramatically into Waltzing Matilda territory…
PENCIL WRITER
…for her amazing (very thought provoking) insight into the Ninja moves and defensive techniques of elephants.
(Oh, an honorable mention to Scotty – you definitely made Mum spit her coffee!)

I adored each and every entry though and read them all about 20 times.
Then wished I hadn’t. Because it just made it even harder to choose a winner.
Thanks everyone for taking the time and energy to enter.
I do hope you enjoyed checking back and reading all the amazing, splutter-worthy entries as much as we did…
The real story (kinda) will be posted later today.
Now I need to give my poor stretched giggle-muscles a Radox bath…
and finish writing the ‘real rusty deal’.
🙂

2nd??? Yeeehah. Thank you very much. You know even with being a true blue Aussie broad I had to delve deep into the recesses of my mind to come up with some of that Aussie slang – it’s a wonder any one can understand us, really!

Well done to big sis and pencil writer. This was really fun.

    You’re very generous. And I’m slow, I guess, but I don’t understand Debby’s disqualification . . . I, for one, love her goanna stories! And thanks for your continuing support of my twisted sense of humor. I don’t know why your contests bring out the fantasy writer in me! But I laughed reading all the other entries, too. Scotty . . . you cracked me up as I read your comment (through fingers mostly shielding my innocent eyes). Loved the Aussie theme of “Big Sis” and “Gem.” Appropriate to the land of their nativity! It’s so fun. Congratulations to one and all. Thanks BB and Mum (you’re most generous) for including my lunacy in the top 3. I had excessive fun. ;-}

Hey guys… no first second or third. All equal winners… so email me on the gmail address at right for details…

Wished I could give some decent prizes to everyone!!! Awesome efforts all round!

    Hugs

They were all funny interpretations to read! I really enjoyed them all. 🙂 With such creativity it’s hard to even begin to think of something as good!

You know, you will have to start having some rules of your comp if you are going to just disqualify Deb and I because we happen to know the real story.

Sheesh – did you say you wanted the real story?

(this comment falls very firmly into the category of sarcasm and should be taken as such, hon.)

Oh – and word verification today? Silli. True!

That was a load of fun! What a creative bunch we have here!!!! You guys almost got my frozen Dakota juices flowing with some of those steamy entries….

  • bigSIS

Wow! Thanks for the 1st place! I laughed so hard over all the entries and wasn’t even going to enter my own but then recalled this funny story I heard about my dad not too long ago. So my little bit of silliness is not all fabricated in my OWN mind. =)

Congrats to GEM and PENCIL WRITER!

Thanks BB for all the fun. =)
