Horses,  Language,  The Bush

Of hats, horses and gutter conversations…

Guess what we’ve been up to over the weekend?

Besides me taking too many photos …

And Dash advising his Dad …

to make sure he
‘digs him in the gutters’
to make his horse go faster!

(I smiled in spite of myself.)

Hope y’all had a top weekend too!

I always do admire your photos.

Especially love the one at the top with the two children on the steps with the hats! GORGEOUS.

    Where is Dash’s hat?!!

Sorry, its the mantra of my childhood at all of those dusty venues echoing to haunt your children.

You have a beautiful family. But then you already knew that, didn’t you?

I could lay me down in all that jean.

That first photo is priceless – Dash and Violet are so beautiful! And Dash with Mr. I – wonderful!

My weekend has just been rainy – wish we could send some of it to the dry parts of your homeland.

In that last photo, I don’t know if your Mr. I. is kissing little Dash’s head or whispering in his ear, but it made my heart melt. Sweet, sweet photos.

Darling photos. Tell Dash not to dig too deep in the gutters or you might get a buck 🙂
Visit my blog tomorrow, there is an award there for you.

Great photos…especially that last one, looks like a tender moment between dad and son. I love the “digs him in the gutters” comment, did he learn that from Mr. I?

Favorites are the first with the two kids and the last… father and son.

What is it about men and how they are with children that makes one smile?

So much fun! Your kids are just beautiful, i love how excited they are to watch daddy. Okay so that last photo just melts my heart! The way Mr.I is leaning in towards Dash’s head. I can’t tell whats going on really but the story in my head is that he leans in and kisses Dash real quick. Sigh, if only men knew how much watching them with kids melts our hearts. So how did Mr. I do at this weekend’s competition?

I guess I should explain… some kids Dash was hanging with at the campdraft were telling each other they had to kick their steed ‘in the guts’ to get them moving (not a word we would usually use, but much more dramatic in the language sense than in reality – esp seeing as how most boots didn’t reach below saddle level!). Only dash heard ‘gutters’ instead of ‘guts’. I hate to think where a horse’s ‘gutters’ might be… and what might happen if you kicked them there!!
    🙂
