Gratuitous rear end photo

You know, I thought to myself tonight, if I am going to get googled for offensive words
– and trust me, I do*
then I may as well go the whole hog.
*Note to self:
Think very hard about pseudonym before blithely posting up the first alliteration that comes to mind!
‘Bush Babe’ seemed like a kinda sweet name when I first penned it just over a year ago – I am from the Australian country (The Bush) and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing with my blog (Babe in the Woods). The worst I thought might happen was that someone would think that I thought I was a bit of hot stuff… a bit ‘up myself’ as they say round here if you are getting a little big for your boots. And I thought, ‘heaven’s I can cope with that’. It’s clear to anyone who knows me that I am no hot babe, that’s for sure!
So, you see? You see how innocently begotten was the title Bush Babe? Never occurred to me that people would deliberately click on my link after googling up Demi Moore’s bush“. Yar. Shudder. It’s my mother’s influence. I am a woman of the world, I have met many ‘interesting characters’ in the course of my life and my work, and I should know the connotations.
Thankfully none of those veering mistakenly onto my blog expecting soft porn seem to hang around long – or so my Stat Counter tells me, anyway!
Anyway, where was I?
Oh yes, Gratuitous Bottoms.
Hello boys!
The three bovine butts on the right of this pic belong to our little show team.
Aren’t they lovely and shiny and clean?
Very un-bull-like really!
They have been parading around like complete show ponies (cough, cough, oh look, there’s one in the background of this photo)…
Now there are a nice pair of stud animals…
And here is another of our little bulls, with ‘cattle fitter’ Jeff. He prepares our animals for showing – breaking them to halter and grooming them and feeding them.
He’s very experienced in this field – and having stepped off the Big City train for the Bush rattler only two years ago, we lean on his experience heavily as we take on the perils of the show ring.
Of course, there are those who like to show up their more experienced (or just older) elders…
Like this little muffin

Can you believe the size of her?

This tiny little girl leading a bull weighing hundreds and hundreds of kilos around like he’s a puppy dog?

And if THAT wasn’t enough, the dear little upstart goes and BEATS us,
taking home the blue ribbon for her family’s stud.

Can you believe it?

Actually, I know her pretty well (Hello Breeyou are a star!) and I think she’s an absolute sweetheart – I was so excited when she won I kinda forget she had just beaten our boys. I couldn’t get over her calm ability and sheer fearlessness. I am not game to do what she is doing – I would be ill, or let go at a vital moment, or not remember to tickle them in the right spot with the stick, or something

What a little woman!!

Seems my life is full of inspirational women this week…

So… who has inspired you lately?

There's a 5 month old infant here who has been fighting for his life. He has heart problems & his mom & dad have shown such grace & faith. His mom is a blogger w/ quite the following & it's because of the things she believes. Her grace & strength, faith & humility inspire & humble me. Her name is mckmama & her blog is –

We are all surrounded by inspirational people. If you just start talking to anybody, you’ll find something that is inspiring about them. Seriously. Ever tried it?

  • Leenie

Shampooing a bovine’s butt for display is an interesting job. Usually the show animals are such pets that they enjoy the attention. And they look so sleek and shiny (like your boys) when they are cleaned up.

Oh I don’t know – you were pretty fearless when you were that age. In fact, there is a photo somewhere in the real life archives of a girl about that age with your vital statistics sitting down with “Bubby” and playing with him like a kitten.

Its funny, we never look to be inspired by our selves – that is why god invented younger siblings!

  • Paint Girl

Those are some clean and shiny bulls!
Way to go Bree for takin’ it to the boys! I couldn’t imagine handling one of them!

That little girl is amazing! I am still amazed at how docile your bulls are. This is what i’m used to:

Giving bulls a wide berth. I have always wanted a Texas Longhorn, you give me hope 🙂

There have been so many inspirational people everywhere lately. Susan Boyle of course. And that little boy who was on the same show later. He was so brave.

Debby is very inspirational along with several of you regulars. Amazing people are all around us. We just have to open ourselves to others and allow ourselves to connect.

Hi, Vicky, here in East Texas …delurking..I’ve enjoyed reading your blog for some time now. It never occured that your blogname, BushBabe, meant anything other than what you explained. The Bush identifies you to anyone with any knowledge of geography, and Babe would identify you as a babe (ie in the woods) to anyone with any education at all. I’m afraid some people have no education, nor ability to think above gutter level. I hope it hasn’t caused you any trouble.

And to think I had to stop and really think out what people were accidentally coming here for…sorry.

Hey, and I just found out Woman in a Window is another term for Jezebel. huh.

    What a cute kid!

  • Pony Girl

Holy cow, she’s amazing, and that’s no bull! 😉 I love the look of those bulls, so fit and shiny!
I had to laugh at the first part of your post. I did not think that “pony girl” had any interesting attachments to it either….until I learned about a fetish where people dress up as ponies and….well, let’s just say my stat counter shows some interesting hits, as well! I seriously considered changing the name but realized that meant mayhem for those that read my blog, and, like you said, most of those people don’t stick around long if you aren’t what they are looking for. I know when I search online for something, I often click to a site and am there for less than a page load because it’s not what I wanted.

Someone recently found the Kewl blog when googling, “Potatoes growing in my vagina”.
Google key words hey… what a mine field!!!
