Her eyes…

I often imagine she has old eyes
whatever that means…
Perhaps it means that they seem
knowing and watchful and hard to fool?
Because sometimes they look clean through you,
and sometimes they are afire with brimstone and wrath,

other moments see them

questioning, impatient, unwavering

and then sometimes…

those same eyes light with the delight of being a child,

anticipating good and right and just.

May her ‘old eyes’ hang onto that light of delight

for as long as we all shall live.

Amen.

Penetrating, beautiful eyes. May they always be blessed to see the beauties of this world! (Like her Mum!)

I love looking @ my children's eyes. Especially when they are new & learning how to focus. It's amazing how much those little eyes seem to know. Your daughter has absolutely beautiful eyes. Just beautiful.

Lovely pictures! Her eyes are beautiful! The first thing I notice on a person is their eyes. To me you can tell so much about a person through their eyes.

    Gorgeous!
The last one is my favourite. I am sure younger siblings despise it being said (I know Miss V does) but I think there is a hint of Dash' cheekyness in the last one.

AMEN!!! She does have old eyes or as we say it, she is an Old Soul. And that last image is just beautiful, you can tell so much about her just by those eyes. Beautiful.

I am not sure why I can't comment on your blog anymore. It just doesn't seem to work. I will however, try again.

Okay. To me, 'old eyes' means that they are wise, and that they have a vision much bigger than their years. Your Violet is a beautiful, beautiful girl.

AMEN! Diddo to all those children out there that need to stay children while they are and not grow up too quickly. I love what Debby said to about what 'old eyes' mean. Great explanation!
