Torture relief of the enamel kind
…
Sure 12 days might not seem a lot in EVERYDAY land.. but where I have been living, in WAITING FOR TOOTH FAIRY land, the hours since he first discovered both front teeth were wobbly have been endless. Dash has been unable to leave those teeth alone.
…
His hand has been CONSTANTLY in his mouth to check on progress!
And the need to SHARE that progress has been URGENT and EVER PRESENT…
And the need to SHARE that progress has been URGENT and EVER PRESENT…
(and yes his face is dirty… I am keeping it real here people!)
The DROOL factor has also been kinda hideous…
FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!!!
He now has a MOTHER of a gap at the front of his sweet little face…
The Fallen Tooth.
I had to help Dash hold his hand steady for this pic, he was just WAY too excited to BE STILL!!!
Can you tell??
…
Oh, and a quick word for the Tooth Fairy,
should she check blogs for updates for her run tonight…
It’s only fair that I warn you:
You had better be quick about your work tonight, my dear!
Cause this little enamel factory is sure keen to catch you at the gold coin delivery!
If he doesn’t go to sleep with one hand on that tiny purple velvet pouch waiting for you, then I don’t know my son!

What a cute little gap he's got! What's the going rate for a tooth these days? We haven't reached that stage yet.

All I can say is, I wish. My daughter does exactly the opposite. She does everything in her power to prevent her teeth from letting go of their last whisper of thread. Three months and finally yesterday hers let go. Her babying said teeth involves careful maneuvering with her toothbrush AWAY from said wiggly tooth. As a consequence she spent yesterday afternoon shining up the plaque riddled tooth 'cause she realized the tooth fairy wouldn't be very impressed!
Trade you.

Congratulations Dash for losing your tooth 🙂
Now that I am older I need a tooth fairy to help me pay the dentist to KEEP my teeth where they belong 😉

Ahhh, the excitement and thrill of losing a tooth! As Theresa said, now we cringe at the thought! I've thought all along that Dash is one heckuva impressive young man!!!

Great pics of such a momentous occasion, BB! 😉 As a teacher, kids are always running up to me and wiggling their loose tooth. I have to say, it gives me the shivers! Eww, I've had bad dreams of my teeth falling out, LOL!

You know, if a picture's worth a thousand words, I have to say, that last picture tells a whole story. Priceless!

Beautiful photos to treasure! Was Dash acting like a "demented willy wagtail"? Have just read back through previous posts and thought that was lovely!

You know I had an enormous response to everyone's comment … and blogger ate it!!! Gah…
In short: Thanks, yes he could well be described as a demented w'wagtail, apologies to all teachers out there (you suffer with us parents!!), and the Tooth Fairy had quite a debate with her husband and settled on a $2 coin for a front tooth. Inflation may well set in before we hit the molars!

Our tooth fairy gave $2 for the first tooth and then $1 per tooth afterwards.(That is when she remembers!)
