Clouds, Calendars and Gratitude

It’s been just 5 days since I posted off a big batch of my BB calendars into the outside world.

I took over the local Post Office, drove the staff there all nuts because I wanted stamps instead of those awful grey printout prices on each envelope, had myself a minor conniption over the price of overseas postage, then sat back and had a quiet breakdown over whether people who had spent their hard-earned cash on my project would actually like their purchase.

It’s what I do.

Despite there being a weekend jammed into those five days since The Great Post Office Visit, and despite the fact that the calendars all dove into the mail way out here in the sticks, at least two lots have already found their way to distant buyers. Go Australia Post!

In fact, by Monday one batch had arrived in MELBOURNE (at the other end of the country!) to the charming gentleman pictured below.

A photo of him holding the BB calendar arrived via email, with this message from his daughter:
Thankyou so much…
(and some other nice stuff that made me blush)…
Attached is a pic of Dad opening his first Xmess pressie for the season.

Aside from the smile I got from the “Xmess” reference, it really hit me that my little publication was actually going to be on walls other people’s walls. And they would very likely be actually looking at it regularly… Like wow!

What an honour…

Anyhow… I just wanted to say a big THANKS to those who have ordered their first edition BB calendar. And to those who have enquired but not yet placed an order, there are just a couple left. If this is you, please email me here: bushbabeaustralia at gmail dot com.
(Yes, Theresa I am talking to you here!)

And I also wanted to thank the NINETY NINE of you who ‘follow’ this blog, and the dozens of others who subscribe to me via RSS and other means. I think you are all just slightly crazy but love you for visiting me and encouraging my photo-heavy ramblings. It’s really nice to know I’m not talking to myself out here!

And to all my real-life friends and family who stay (mostly) silent but visit this blog regularly – I love that you come, even if you think you are being sneaky!

I haff my ways of no-wink*taps nose*.

You all ‘ride with me’ in my adventures – and I do love a good ‘mustering gang’!

To sign off, I leave you with some word imagery.

My twitter word imagery to be exact.

I am a sporadic twitterer but admit that it is fun when I get excited about something and want to share…

I think this TweetCloud says more about me (and possibly my air-headedness) than anything.

It also says I like Robbie Williams just a LITTLE too much.

And I have allowed the word ‘dang’ to enter my vocabularly.

And it also say that I kinda like clouds…

They are purty…

You want to know what ELSE I am thankful for?

The clouds outside my window.

The ones dropping fat, delicious, juicy drops of H2O as I type.

.

What’s your weather doing?

Please share… I love a little weather.

(Oh, and THANKS for just being here. Did I say that already?)

Here on the Gold Coast it's sunny, cloudy, overcast, breezy, calm, a few spots of rain – nothing substantial but it is trying…a bit of everything today really….Hubby was in Brissie today and said Huey really sent it down.

It's nice of you to thank your followers (I just joined as "One who RIdes with you") but we should be the ones thanking you for providing us with such entertaining reading…. Thank You Bush Babe…..

Well, we would not keep coming back if you didn't do what you do so well. There.

Remember what I said about posting to America. I really meant it, and I will be glad to take care of it for you next year. You also might compare Fedex or UPS' pricing. You might find it cheaper. I very often find UPS to be the better deal.

Goes to show I live 'regional' after all, as mine ain't arrived yet and I'm getting impatient!
Cool here yesterday and today for the start of summer – after a ridiculous 37 degrees on Sunday. Love your tweet clouds!

It's in the mid 40s(F) in South Arkansas and we had rain overnight. Still bleak looking out there. Sure would brighten things up if my calendar arrived in today's mail!! I'm anxiously watching for it!! (you'll be replacing Winnie-the-Pooh on my office wall)

Thanks BB – mine was waiting at PO Box when we came back from a few days away – nice surprise! It looks great – quality paper and I love the spiral too not just staples. Oh … and the photos are pretty spesh too 🙂 Well done – a terrific job.
Weather yesterday was not too hot – and overcast. Trying to rain/storm but nothing.
I'd like to know where in Australia that nice gentleman with the calendar photo lives … he's wearing a jumper and I'm jealous!!

Your dad has such a great smile!

We got our first dusting of snow this week. Whoo hoo, it's starting to feel like Christmas around here. Next thing you know, I'll start baking or something equally foolish…

Those twitter clouds are almost poetry, I love the "funny post girl", "dang fairy goodness" and "rain love sounds".

Hot and 33 today, plenty of cloud cover. It's going to be sticky!

Slightly below freezing now, (27F at 11:30 pm, here in Kansas) but during the day it got to just warm enough to still be cold–43F or somesuch. When I picked up the kids from school early (teachers had some sort of in-service thing) there were little wet chunks of ice falling from the sky (eldest daughter tried to convince me it was snow, youngest daughter closely examined some samples sticking to my coat and loudly complained that they weren't round, they were cubical!) but at least it didn't stick.
Wishing all the best to you and yours!

It's late but, due to the weather, I have been out plowing so people with little front wheel drive cars can make it up and down their driveway.

Weather in the banana belt of Alaska: 6 am Thursday 33*F and mixed rain and snow; possible accumulation of an inch in addition to the 2" to 12" already on the ground.

Love the calendars. Next year I will have to get one. For 2010 my dogs are on several Brown Trout calendars so I got many samples.
