A small selection of ‘bugs’ for The Pioneer Woman’s Photo Challenge this week.
First, a shot from our front garden – I’m no gardener but lavendar survives there, and draws in bees and butterflies….
I heart lavendar. Tough and sweet. Two of my very favourite attributes.
In a similar vein, dirty denim and butterflies.
An unusual but appealing combo, no?
Perhaps the sickly sweet smell of cow poo attracted this butterfly?
Or perhaps it was just lost?
And finally (cause this is all I have time to upload into her one-a-day-limit group)…

Ladybug and sugar pea – back when my veggies were flourishing…
I miss my veggie garden. (It hasn’t gone anywhere, the gardener is just MIA!)

A Novel Woman
I like dragonflies but ladybugs are pretty darn nice too. And bumblebees.
What’s a “buttefly”? Is this something unique to Australia? I shudder to think how it got its name.
Me? I’m off to Vegas. We’ll see what’s flying in that neck ‘o the woods.

For everyone now wondering what ANW is referring to here, I had a typo after the pooey jeans photo (buttefly) – quite appropriate really!! The sub-editor in me won out though.

I’m not sure what my favorite would be (though you might remember I had a least-favorite five list awhile back)…. maybe dragonflies? Fireflies (lightning bugs) are kinda fun, too.
I actually took quite a nice photo once that is very similar to your butterfly photo at the top. Certainly not contest worthy, though.

I like to take pictures of pretty much every bug I see, but as to a fave, I don’t really know.
