Business and Pleasure

Oh.. ah…yeah… G’day! Remember me?

I’m the chick that apparently has a blog somewhere round here.  Except that HAVING a blog would imply POSTING on at least a semi-regular basis.  And clearly I am incapable of that at present.  *hangs head*

You want excuses? Really?  Okay… will take that deafening silence as a plea to list my reasons to being MIA.  My mini-mountain of ‘to do’s’ as I see it tonight:

  • 2 baskets of folding (to be added to the 2 baskets already folded and now resembling a mini city-scape on the dining room table)
  • 300+ photos taken of a family on the weekend (waiting to be edited or at the very least LOOKED at)
  • 70+ photos of young cows to be sorted, edited and emailed to a couple of potential buyers (URGENTLY BB!)
  • washing up (a hearteningly small pile tonight thanks to ‘cheat’ dinner of takeaway fish and chips)
  • 2 suitcases to unpack (one from kids sleepover at cousins’ last night, mine from trip south two weeks ago… hmmmm)
  • a square mile of floors to vaccuum (I wonder if I remember how to work that contraption?)
  • 1 seriously stinky dog to wash (note to husband, please ensure all animal carcases are at least one kilometre from house or pedigree Great Dane will hunt down to joyfully roll in)
  • knee-high pile of clothes to iron
  • kids on school holidays to feed, clothe and entertain (including cousin Salina, who is less like a visitor than one of the family)
  • a tupperware drawer to sort

Okay – you caught me on the last one.  Everyone who knows me at all, knows I wait til my sister (Salina’s Mum) visits – she has a much lower threshhold than I for messy plastics drawers.  Heh.

There are also lots of important, non-bloggable things to take care of… boring, snoring, business-y, bill-payingy things to attend to.

So you know what?  In the vein of that old saying about ‘two birds, one stone’ …

Hello darling – you might not be the purtiest in the mob, but you sure are cute!  (Even with a dirty face).

In every mob, there is one tart who wants to flash her bosom.

Bloomin’ Hussy!

Not sure this image will sell many heifers… but I like it.

It makes me sigh. (See if you can see my hubby and kiddos working the mob?)

I think that sigh just became a yawn.  Pardon me…

It’s definitely bed-time – my ‘to do’ mountain can wait til tomorrow!

I know the feeling very well. Maybe not the bit about cows… but the too much to do part is far too familiar. After tomorrow I will have worked a 9 day fortnight and I’m stuffed. There are chores to be done, more chores that haven’t been done that really need attending to and kids about to start school hol’s… Roll on 4.00 Friday afternoon – I’ll be the one in front of the fire with a nice glass of wine while my kids cut sick on the playstation 🙂

Howdy from Idaho: (udder one hehe) As far as I’m concerned you have your priorities just right BB. Selfish I am. Love those cow photos, even the butt shots. You can take the kid off the farm…. but those pasture pics make me sigh. And there will ALWAYS BE DIRT.

Made me sigh too. I have, suddenly, free time.(School’s out!!!!!!) I could help you with the laundry folding, and the vacuuming. You, however will have to handle the picture takey stuff. I stink at pictures. Oh, and we had a dog who loved the smell of dead stuff. I remember once that he rolled in something, got bathed, went back out and immediately rolled in something again. Got bathed. At that point, he was leashed, so as not to get into whatever he was getting into again. I felt sorry for him, mournfully looking out the front door. He wanted outside so badly. So I snapped the leash on him and walked outside to get the mail. He lifted his leg on the mail box, and I waited patiently, sorting through the mail. I got involved in a letter, when I finally noticed. The bugger was rolling wildly. The dead thing was right there at the mail box, in the tall grass. OOoooh. I could have killed him. But I didn’t. I simply bathed him again.

Ha – you nearly got me with that tupperware drawer red herring.

Which, by the way, is the sort of carcass a cat will consider – another point in the cat v dog debate 🙂

I would easily wipe the ironing off you pile – not by doing it, by totally wiping it. If you are anything like my mother, you will probably iron it before wearing if it is required, so cut out the double handling…

Lets see, how else can I improve your life?

I won’t combine the cows for sale job with the family shots, as the family will likely not pay for a job where they are made to represent saleable bovines.

Empty suitcases over the square mile of floor, then it just becomes one larger job…

‘Salina can make her lunch competently enough to feed herself – can she make enough to feed a few more if they lobby? (how I simplified my life 101 – have an older daughter who occasionally answers to the name Cinderella)

Send the washing up this way – a few more on the pile won’t be noticed. (haven’t yet taught ‘Salina the art, but I can delegate to V if it gets too big)

Oh – and put “make list” at the top of that one and we can tick it and move forward. Have a great day!!

You are one busy woman!! I really don’t know how you do it all and still find time to share all your wonderful photos with us.

Speaking of…there are some in this batch that I really love. Something about that one of your family working the mob really speaks to me. Love it! I also really like the one of you reaching out to the cow. I have a similar photo (though not nearly so nice as yours).
