Cute. Cold. Quick.

It’s after midnight.

I just watched The Blind Side with my sister. We both cried. Pretty much from start to finish. It’s who we are.  Tough in real life.  Put a movie (or a horse race) in front of us, as we are toast.  Bloody sooks actually.

But that’s not what this post is about.

It’s not about this photo either…

How freaking cute is this?  I found this shot of a toddler at a campdraft earlier this year.  Look at the barbed wire detail on his shirt. And can you SEE those eyelashes?  Illegal.

Nope. (But it needed a picture, and how the heck could you go past the wee cowboy above?)

This post is about weather.

It’s cold. (What, you need more than that?)

It might not be ‘Actic’ level cold, but is IS darned cold for a place that believes the weatherboard is a sufficient barrier between Mother Nature and human flesh.  For instance, it’s supposed to be seven degrees outside at the moment. The kitchen thermometre is reading five degrees.  The forecast says ‘slight’ chance of frost.  And I’d like to know which bookie can take my bet on there being a white carpet of ‘no darned WAY I am going outside yet’, greeting us all in the morning. Later on THIS morning.

While I defrost under the doona, share your weather with us all in comments.

Are you lingering in Winter like us?

Hurtling headlong into Spring?

Sweltering in Summer?

Walzing gently towards Autumn.

Fall.

Whatever.

Share.

PS Sandra Bullock is fabulous.  Darn, that girl owns the screen. I knew she could make me laugh, but who knew she could make me cry? That is all.

The first promises that summer is FINALLY coming to an end are the 58F (14C) nights we have been having. Of course it’s getting back up to 90F (32C) in the day…

Summer in Tennessee is hot, humid and rainless except for roaring thunderstorms that pop up. It will be 98F (36.5C) and the heat index (aka Misery Index) will be 116F (46.5C).

Yep…surviving the last of what has been a most HUMID and HOT summer in quite a LONG time. Gladly saying goodbye to the oppressive heat each day that passes……

Maybe this will warm you a bit.

That said…I’ll take oppressive heat over arctic cold conditions every.day.of.the.week.

August in Idaho U.S.A. is just perfect. The only perfect weather we get. People keep babbling about the end of summer. This is NOT our end of summer this IS our summer. It’s all we get so stop wishing autumn (though Sept is the second perfect month) on us already!

Mmmmmm – slowly saying goodbye to Summer with 79F at 11:30am!!! In the 60s at night, I’m really looking forward to Fall. October is my favorite month!

Here in Maine the weather is supposed to be heading toward 90 this week.. whassup with that?? Its supposed to be turning fall, some leaves have changed already. P.S. I love Sandra Bullock especially in Hope Floats and the little girl in that movie, she made me cry. Stay warm and cuddle up to hubby.

Here in Florida it is still very hot and humid. We have had rain for the past week and lots of it. The oranges on our trees are splitting because they are getting too much water. Citrus trees don’t like wet feet.

I loved Blind Side and it had some real teary parts.

It’s a heatwave of 10 degrees at Dunolly today, be still my beating heart!
Snow threatened at Ballarat this week where it barely crept over 5 on Wednesday.
    Here in Melbourne?
Dunoo, something like 12 or so, judging by the nutter dogs gamboling in the backyard 😉

We have (finally) had two or three mornings that weren’t 80F (27C) at 6:00. Most afternoons of late were 98F (37C). Today we woke to a blessed and blissful 63F!!! (17C). As some other Americans have mentioned, we’ve had the hottest, HOTTEST, longest summer I can remember!!! Babe, please, please enjoy your 5 or 6C! Just for me? I’d trade a week of it with you, honest I would! (I wouldn’t be of any use at Granite Glenn, however, so you’d have to take all that into consideration, but I’d love to see all the beauty from Down Under!

Oh, yes. Sandra Bullock rocked in “The Blind Side.” Hubby and I watched it on the big screen first, then had to purchase it for the family to watch. I should watch it again.

I’ve always thought she was gorgeous. Saw her first in “Net” or “The Net.” I’ve seen lots of other movies she was in, too. I think she is absolutely beautiful and she does slapstick and whatever she does very well. Loved her in “Miss Congeniality”

48*F two mornings in a row here in NJ! We’ll be in the mid-80’s today, I guess. Then its supposed to get a bit warmer. Summer is long-in-the-tooth! I want a LONG fall!

I loved The Blind Side. It made me laugh just as hard as it made me cry, the hallmark of a GREAT movie. Loved it, and I wish that I had been there to watch it with you all, even in 7 degree weather.

We are waltzing gently into autumn. It is currently 18 degrees here, beautiful blue sky. Next week it will be 27 degrees or higher, and it will be sunny and hot, and I will enjoy it very much, thank you.

    Enjoy Jeanie.

We have lived in Mississippi two different times and we came to know ladies just like the mother in Blind Side. The women there are very much southern ladies but real she bears when it comes to there kids.

South Dakota is starting feel like fall. We are finally out of the upper 90s (F) with 90% humidity. Now we are in the 70s and 80s with about 45% humidity. i.e. liveable.

Not looking forward to the snow in my future. It’s coming. *sigh*

Summer is holding us in a death grip but you can’t ignore the faint creep of autumn approaching. It may be scorching all day (27 degrees forecasted for tomorrow plus humidity puts us at 35ish) but last night it was so cold I had to get up and close the window.

This is my favourite time of year (not just because I was born in the fall) but because it’s perfect riding weather. The trees start changing, the bugs relent just a bit, and the pastures aren’t a mud bath like in Spring.
