Pony’s mother sacked

We just arrived home from the play.

The one that my husband gained Father of the Year points on, for creating this costume.  For our daughter.  Fathers and daughters… sheesh!

The play went off beautifully. Dash and Violet wowed us all (well, they wowed their parents, who didn’t take a WHOLE lot of notice of what the rest of the audience thought.) Sadly, their mother displayed her complete inability to control a flash properly. (Bloomin’ red eye reduction. Makes me about a second too late for every shot… my story and I’m STICKING to it!)

Take for instance THIS  – the best shot she got of her daughter in action:

Yes. Well. ‘Mysterious’ is the best descriptive I can come up with there. ‘Sacked’ would be a relevent verb, possibly.

How ’bout this one of her son?

Yuh-huh. He was a riot. But you’d never know from these photos.

He was a janitor in the play, lazily sweeping between each act.  Best part in the show – and he milked those easy laughs for all they were worth.  He even claimed some kids were asking for his autograph afterwards.  And if only he’d known ‘autograph’ was the same as ‘signature’ I am pretty sure he’d have given ’em one too!

The next photo was also hideous, but tells much better the story of our children on stage tonight.  The students were taking their bows to rapturous applause – after the third bow, Violet is all business, marching off to the exit.  Note Dash, however…

LOVING the response and hoping for just a LITTLE bit more.  Hilarious.

More pics tomorrow, with a ‘proper’ look at costumes.

Am off to sulk about my flash now.

😉

I actually love that picture of Violet. Who knew that the little gal could FLY like that?!!!!! The little boots are just adorable! How cute is that? And I love Dash soaking up the applause, taking his bows. Too funny!

OK now I love you – this stuff DOES happen to the pros then!!! (not just me).

…and I love the pic of Dash in character. Something about the set of his shoulders and his business like sweeping reminds me of someone 🙂

I have to agree with Amanda about Dash in Character, as a character??? He is so cute. And Violet, love her costume. Please tell Mr. I that he did an outstanding job! She’s one of the cutest little horsies I’ve ever seen. And my granddaughter does the curved hands/hooves thing, too. (Think of your next post. Sorry I’m out of order!)
