Colour under grey skies…
The Queensland Rowing titles were on last weekend… and as a cousin of Dash and Violet’s was competing, we decided to pop along to check out the action.
I used to row (bet you didn’t know that?). At school. I was okay. Jeanie however was a bit of a star… have you blogged that yet, dear sister? Your time as a national sporting role model? Anyway, while I have having flashbacks to my boarding school days (when I was young and fit and nubile… well, a whole lot closer than I am now!) I snapped a few pics. I know. How very out of character for me…
Pretty girls in pretty lavendar rowing suits…
Lots of young men trying their hardest not to ogle all the pretty girls…
Some splish-splashin’…
And some serious rowing – as competitors vied for state titles crowns… or caps… or whatever…
The colours we were supposed to be barracking for were the lime greens. Now once upon a time, lime green was considered the most hideous colour. Like when my mother attended her Alma Mater in Brisbane, and uniforms were this very shade. Now of course, it’s the height of cool. And two of Mr Incredible’s nieces just happen to attend this very same school… but sadly I could find few items of clothing in the vibrant green to show our allegience…
Now Somerville just happen to have some VERY hot rowers …
And our Julia is no exception. There was a whole lot of “GO GIRL!” coming from our section of the river bank.
That’s her at the right (never know whether it’s considered the front or the BACK of the boat!)…
They won by a country mile!! Whoo-hoot!!
Oh before I go, I should show you the t-shirt I found that fit the colour requirements for Julia’s school…
😉

Fine, fit ladies. No wonder the guys were having a problem not drooling on themselves. Yay for the winning of the green! LOL about the green tee shirt.

I’ve always thought rowing would be great, only not as a competitor. I do love the lime green color—brings brightness to any situation.
Your support shirt is perfect in every way. 🙂

The lovely young lady in lavender is very attractive, as you mention. I do like that photo, but I think my most favorite of this post is the ore coming out of the water. You have such a wonderful eye–as we all have come to respect and enjoy–and skill with capturing such awesome shots. Love it. **Jealous**
