a quick g’day
Well I thought I should quickly update for the detectives and concerned readers out there who have been asking after me (in my absence from blogland). Aren’t I lucky to have such sweet mates?
Firstly, I am okay. Well as okay as you can be when you are wrangling a fancy technical new mobile phone which can do everything but change a car tyre, whilst lying in a hospital bed. I am just about screaming but not with post-surgery pain. I am poking tentatively at a tiny glass screen hoping the words come up something close to the miniscule letters I am trying to tap. Bear with me.
So long story short, the naughty gall bladder has been removed. I won’t say it was fun, but in the scheme of surgeries I have managed to rack up in my four decades, it was alright. I had some really nice nurses and shared a ward with three older ladies who survived being visited by a couple of enthusiastic bush kids.
I hope to have escaped the ward by tonight and be home at Granite Glen tomorrow night. I have been away almost a week and that is WAY too long for this little black duck.
Now if i can only work out how to post a photo up, the world will be as it should be. The kids worked out hot to take photos on this phone but transferring my official hospital mugshot appears to be beyond my power… I am not feeling confident!
See you when I get me back to an old fashioned computer…

Nice to see you again! You’ll be glad to be rid of that pesky gall bladder I’m sure, but mostly to be back home in the glen. Safe trip home.
And don’t try to do too much. The trick is to stay in your pajamas for as long as possible. You look more helpless that way. (Wear them for at least six weeks to gain the maximum benefits. Think of it as a vacation from chores.)

They KEPT you in the hospital? Now that’s different. Tim was on his way home, trying not to puke in the car, less than seven hours after surgery. He only stayed so long because he did not come out of anaesthesia properly. They expected him gone in five.
Huh. They KEPT you…
All joking aside, hope the ward break is successful. You need to be home. With an old fashioned computer. And husband. And kids, and big boofy headed dogs.

Glad you’re on the mend. Every one I know who has had their GB removed said they felt better than they’d felt in years.
Take it easy and milk this a little bit. Get someone at home to do your chores for a few days. 🙂
