Checking out the Big Apple

Our second full day in New York City was busy.

Not that the first one wasn’t pretty amazing… but today the city really got our attention.

This is the view from our hotel room…

To say it’s incredible would be an understatement.

This view looks out over Broadway. I think the Beatles play is happening pretty much below us.

This is Violet photographing the pancakes she ordered for breakfast.

She had FINALLY worked out that they were exactly like pikelets (which she loves), just WAY bigger.  She almost made it through one.

Then we found Macy’s. It has been seriously cool in NYC – sitting around zero Celsius today – and Dash had been feeling the chill.  And his Mum has been told by her ever-lovin’ hubby that her nose is getting red.

Nice.

Like the kids’ new winter coats?

 Toasty.

And pretty cheap – all winter stuff is marked down and they have swimmers in store.  There is ice on the street and they have togs on offer.  Go figure.

We finally found our hop-on, hop-off bus and joined the queue for the Natural History Museum.

You know.

The place featured in Night at the Museum, with Ben Stiller…

It was humongous with a lot of very cool exhibits, and we got through about 1/20 of it in our two hours.

And do you know what is right beside this amazing museum?

Central Park, baby!

The first place my kids touched snow.

Dirty old icy snow.

Apparently they are predicting fresh stuff for tomorrow.

The day we plan to see the Statue of Liberty…

Sheesh.

Just call me Rudolf, baby!
