Sandpit
There are some projects going on around our house at the moment. Little things, big things. Things like top-dressing lawns that are all uneven and perilous for wonky-legged peoples wandering through the houseyard *ahem*.
So when Dad offered to leave a truckload of sand near the corner of our houseyard a couple of days ago, I accepted with alacrity. (Isn’t that a great word? Thought I’d throw it in there and see if it fit… almost!).
Anyway, there was a pile of sand sitting there and I thought:
Wonder how long it’ll take the kids to get into that great temporary ‘sandpit’.
Answer?
Not long…
Our show bulls found it first. And got all skippy. And a tiny bit fighty.
Boys are boys, regardless of the species.

Bulls are incredible the way the have to dig and bury their heads. Anyone would think they were ostriches!

they are lovely looking boys too by the way, love the piece of bailing twine holding the gate shut, that will do the job!

Isn’t it funny how they do that! 🙂 I wonder why? The big red one was very into it. Wonder what they would do if it was all snow?

Well I think that of the bulls might feature on the 2012 calendar?
How many bulls do you have?
I presume you have Brangus Black and Red?
Do you sell semen for other studs here and overseas? Surely with all those young “anxious masters”, you don’t have that many cows?
Your calendar here has been a hit – hopefully your sales might improve for 2012 – at least we know your calendars are “Made in Australia” and not in China, like some I found I have sent and I am not a “happy chappie” – degrading I think, seeing that they were of religious photos etc!

I love it.

I think it is funny to watch creatures frolic. It’s a reminder that all of us need to make time for recreation. I begin some serious recreation Monday night…
I’ve a notion that your dad was not all that keen on the bull ‘recreation of the day’

Ah, a wee bit of microderm abrasion. It will make them silky smooth for the show ring. 🙂

So what, exactly, is the appeal? Is it because it’s cool deep down in that sand? At least they’re enjoying themselves!

Oh, Kelly: the appeal? This has been going on since Charles Atlas was a skinny weakling. Bullies always kick sand on the weaker people. The weakling bulls will build up their muscles. Wait until they see that bully next time. They’ll show him, by cracky!~

Bullies have been kicking sand at those weaker than themselves since Charles Atlas was a scrawny weakling on the beach. Right now, I’ll betcha those other bulls are bulking up right now. Wait until they see that big red bully again. They’ll show him, by cracky!
