Welcome Home!

Another crazy (but great) weekend. Away (again). Late nights (again). Pics to come (once I get permission from a couple of people for some pics I’d like to share)…

I drove home today (letting Mr Incredible* recover a little from helping celebrate his brother’s 50th birthday) arriving at Granite Glen about an hour before dark.

But JUST before we turned off the bitumen, I stopped the car sharply to avoid running over this big fella…

Check out the kids’ expressions… he was gorgeous!

‘He’ being a 7-foot black-headed python.

The kind of snake you need around if you want the nasty types not to breed up too much.

Not only are they very unlikely to try to bite (they are favourites as pet snakes apparently) but they can feed on their more venomous cousins (these guys are constrictors)… so we like ’em! (Check out the range of snakes native  to our region here – scroll down past the venomous ones to find this guy!)

Still.

I wouldn’t want to accidentally stand on one in the paddock. (I’m mad, but not THAT mad stupid brave).

Nice to be home.

🙂

* Happy anniversary to my man. Eleven years ago today. What a day THAT was. How time flies when you are having fun (and children!). ♥

Tim was reading this over my shoulders. He believes that we need cowboy boots for when we head over there. Probably NOT this summer, but perhaps in the fall, we dunno yet, but we’re getting passports, just to be ready.

And, exactly when is it NOT snake weather there, because I think that’s when we want to visit Australia. Pretty sure of it, actually.

    Yes. I’m certain.

That mirror photo is priceless! That one is worth MORE than a thousand words–prize winner!

Mr. Snake looks like he could be mistaken for a whip. Hope he stays away from Jeanie’s daughter. He could get the snake-poo whipped out of him.

    Happy Anniversary!

After reading Bill Bryson’s In A Sunburned Country, I’m convinced that Australia is home to the most animals who want humans out of there, lol!

Good thing this guy is a “helper snake.” He’s a beaut!

Josette… it seems like that sometimes! LOL. Lucky it’s utterly beautiful here as well, so we don’t mind sharing it with them. BTW I love your name – so unusual.
