Fishin’
This series of photos was shot on the Sunday… and between me having them edited and now, a flood has hit us. But it was so lovely I still had to share.
By the way… this spot he’s fishing from? Now underwater.

I don’t think it’s any secret that our son adores fishing…
It’s not a passion he gets from his mother. I am allergic to getting fishing hooks in my fingers (which seems to magnetically attract them).
Dash’s ability to nag his parents endlessly til we let him tackle up and cast a line is quite legendary…
Today was his first fishing effort since the flood… and boy were they biting!
I was asked to bring down gloves to help prevent fish bite… (?)
This guy completely swallowed his hook. (And yes, he is on the menu tonight).
Have you ever seen a kid completely in his element?
At least til the rain arrived… and he had to pack up his extensive kit and head for home.
I am not sure what size haul he thought he was in for, with that trailer behind the four-wheeler?
He got five within an hour – perhaps that’s the power of positive thinking?
We scaled, cleaned and filleted the largest fish (where ‘we’ = Mr Incredible).
And Dash declared his fish dish delish!
🙂

Aaah, a little fisherman. He and my DH and son would get along just fine. In the summer they spend most of their time doing just that, and in the winter they ice fish. Oh yes, the trappings, they have enough equipment for 6 people. DH builds rods as a hobby so that clinches the fishing fanatic thing. Dash is such a cutie and seems pretty independent. Boy’s are like that, yes they are.
Still lovin’ the changes. Good job.

Way to bring home the fish, Dash! So sorry the rain is now flooding out the great fishing hole. Hope the downpour doesn’t do too much serious damage. Yes, I think I want to hear the rest of that ancestral fishing story.
