Quotable quotes
I love a good quote to go with my images… the bush inspires me daily, and I love that the RIGHT quote seems to highlight a particular feeling I have when I shoot a certain photo.
It’s an angle I came up with a few years ago, and added to my bush calendars to help give them a ‘point of difference’*.
I tend to share these offerings as I put them together more on Facebook, but thought it might be cool to compile a few of them together here.
(Blogs are so much easier to read and wander through, don’t you think?)
An oldie but a goldie!
Oh HORSES… good for a million great quotes…
I don’t know why but this one makes me well up a bit – has been used more than once!
Poets give awesome quotes… as do authors. (This road pic HAD to be Tolkien, didn’t it?)
And Philosophers… this bloke knew his stuff!
Douglas Adams makes me laugh – he’s not Confucius but he’s a crack-up!
Dust makes up a big part of our lives… nice to see someone found something beautiful to say about it!
Sometimes though, I cannot find JUST the right phrase in my extensive ‘Quotes File’… and I make something up!
Get it? Bull. Dust.
Small things give me joy – ‘simple pleasures’ are my thing!
Who else had this quoted to them as a child? ‘
… it’s from a poem called ‘Solitude‘ by Ellen Wheeler Wilcox which is just beautiful. My Dad loves this line and we pretty much grew up hearing it on a daily basis!
Of course song lyrics are fabulous for evocative words… sometimes I take them and tailor them to the situation…
I am belting that out Tina Turner-style as I type this.
Remember the ‘Love is…’ posters?
My version… HA!
Another one… melts my heart.
This one is not really a ‘feel good’ one…
Tee hee.
Attitude is everything…
This bird had it. The Strut-Master!
And last (but not least) one of my all-time favourite photos…
What are your favourites?
Let me know in comments (each has a letter underneath to identify). Considering making merchandise featuring the best.
PS I will be posting the most popular in larger sizes for easy online sharing and screen saver purposes soon.
* I notice others are doing something similar now… imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

I purchased a book many years ago when I was in a bit of a “low” spot in my life. A fellow by the name of Jim Conquest put it together with his black and white photos and matching quotes (his I think). I would choose a quote each week and write it up on a blackboard and read it every morning. That was the start of it…. I just LOVE quotes (as you would know!) especially when teamed up with appropriate pics.
When I come across a quote which I think my family need to read I print it out and put it up on the fridge – kinds like a gentle clip over the ear hole 😉
Keep em comin BB – one of my faves (and I probably have too many to mention) is “Those who lose dreaming are lost” Aboringal Proverb

That’s a GREAT quote Kylie!!

Oh I just love O. Where you have written the quote is just perfect too.

Good Grief! I know you have been getting plentiful rain for the property and all is looking fine in that department. BUT what is in that stuff “Hughie” is sending down.
Bountiful platitudes of wisdom – Plato, Aristotle, Socrates or a more modern version, Nietzsche????
You have excelled yourself – they are great to go with the photos, but “P” – well, maybe something else, eh?
Yesterday, 24 solid hours of rain in Brisbane, I think that is enough for a while, but the cool temperatures sure can stay.
Cheers
Colin

F is my best because I have found it to be so true in most all aspects of life and art.

These are great! I think my favorite is E, but I love F, L, Q….hey, there isn’t a bad one here!
Considering posting things like this to Twitter occasionally for those of us who don’t do FB. 😉

A would have to be my challenge atm. Accepting that my Mum shows signs of dementia and it is this that’s attacking me not my lovely Mum. Accepting is so hard.

I LOVE the one of Violet and Sandy …. and the quote is just perfect. A few horses in my history had the joy of knowing that love, and I enjoyed bestowing it! Still do …. even though I’m no longer a little girl and haven’t been for a long time.

I like K and the reminder that old has a place with the new and always has.
Although I love the picture of Violet and her horse. The expression on her face is breathtaking.
