Mystery Photo: the Dash File

I was on the phone to Jeanie this week… this is not an unusual occurance – we talk all the time. This conversation got a little interesting though, inspired by some goings on in the Granite Glen homestead… and Jeanie said:
I really think you should blog that!
So me, being me, decided to not hand it to y’all on a platter. I decided to make the story a bit more interactive… so here it is:

Your challenge (should you choose to accept) is to tell me the story leading up to this image:

This week’s mystery photo.
And it’s a corker.
Trust me.

Best story wins a print of your favourite BB pic.
Please note: Not necessarily the story that is the closest to the truth.
Cause their ain’t no way you’ll get close to it.
Believe me!
So head to the comments section and let’s have it folks…
Your best version of what happened in the lead-up to the image above.
I can’t wait to hear what goes on in your heads!

This is Dash opening a can of whup ass on…let’s see…a goanna named Gerard. Being a careful boy, he is reading the directions, not wanting that whup ass to slosh over and affect his beloved mum.

Wallaby in a can? Directions on can: Instant Wallaby! Just add water!!

Or possibly a wallaby hat, and Dash is reading the proper way to wear it?

I’m thinking those are calf sacks that have been castrated. Dash heard about how babies are made and is trying to figure out how he can get these parts to produce a baby brother to play with.

(I’m not entering the contest, but I couldn’t resist getting in on the fun).

Dash tucked the empty can beside the house a couple of months ago, hoping to catch some sort of Aussie wildlife in it. Being a busy boy he promptly forgot all about it until this week. He kept hearing a strange sound and when he went to investigate he was surprised to find a small kangaroo stuck in the can. Apparently the Joey was confused and thought the can was his mother, albeit she wasn’t nearly as soft and welcoming as when he had hopped away from her that morning. He was pretty hungry and was putting up quite a fuss when Dash discovered him.

Dash finally remembered where he stored his old favourite possum puppet! He had put it away ages ago in a safe spot …. just could’nt remember where that was till just now.

Great photo anyway .. as all of yours are 🙂
    Cheers

Finding a chook in the Milo can Dash was looking for the country of origin to make sure it wasn’t his Grandmother’s chook. 😛
Coz it’s marvellous what a difference Milo makes 😛

I knew they had some strange food down under but canned calf nuts!?!?!? It’s important to check the expiration date though. Good Job Dash!

I’m guessing the story goes a little something like this 🙂

It’s castration day on the Ranch and Dash, intelligent and industrious as he is, has decided he needs to make some spending money. He decides that lemonade stands are for pansies. He knows that calf nuts are in high demand and the stock is rising! He proudly shows his mum his first can full of furry little nuts and heads to he Calf Nut Stand. So far three dogs and a dingo have shown up but they don’t have much money on them…

lol – I already know the story so shan’t enter, just in case I throw too many clues out there…

Remember, I was on the phone, I heard it all…

  • Bush Babe (of Granite Glen)

    That’s right Jeanie… so shush!!

Debbie – I do love the American expression “whup ass” or “whoop ass” as in the canned variety. I unleash whoop ass all the time – ours is a bit wilder and definitely not the production line variety!! Heh heh. Not sure I want to know what “slushed whup ass” entails though…

Portia – one day, when I am feeling really brave, I shall document our version of calf castration… its different to the Pioneer Woman’s ranch where they hack the whole thing off. But I can see where you are coming from!!

Portia – you are not to speak to SSB! A little brother is something more than just Dash wants!

Steviewren – yup! You are an artist and have a terrific imagination!!! Wow!

Wendy – welcome and *heh heh* and thanks!

Jayne – trust an Aussie to recognise the container! Too funny!

Kate – Holy Cow! That should be a movie: Dash and the Calf Nut Stand!

I love them all!!! How on earth am I gonna choose?? Aaaccckkk…

PS Contest closes at 9pm Granite Glen time!! Don’t miss out!
