A week to remember (3)

GETTING HOME…

So we were at a creek near home, after travelling for about three hours to make it through flooding to get home.  (Read here and here if you missed the first parts of this tale).

Mr Incredible decided to walk the flooded crossing to see what the road underneath was like…

He hoiked his shorts up high and …

…yikes!

Pretty deep, darl!

So we got on the two-way radio and called for reinforcements. My cousins and their spouses (who had been commandeering our Wii in our absense) came down to ponder the situation.

Well, they all pondered except Jay – he is married to my cousin M, and is an ex-rodeo clown. For those not in the know about rodeo stuff, this basically means he has NO sense of danger at all.

So he waded right over to us… I love the body language in the background figures here.  You can tell what each is thinking, can’t you?

Aside: loving his shirt. It reads: “Mr Strong is HOME!”

So Mr Incredible and Mr Strong ferried two amazed kids over the flooded creek…

Before returning in my uncle’s ute (with snorkel attachment to keep it going through deep water) to tow us over…

I admit my heart was a little bit:

Boom-buddy-boom-buddy…

And there was a little bit of tugging sideways as we rolled through…

but it was really only a matter of 30 seconds before we were OUT the other side…

WHEW!!

Nearly home…
