A sparkling start to 2013
It’s official.
It’s January 1, 2013. We had a few family over for a BBQ and drinks on our deck to see it in.
And while I would ADORE having fireworks over our river to celebrate, they are not legal here unless you are a professional. Which I am not.
So we made do with sparklers.
And two little night owls, and a chick with a camera who wasn’t QUITE sure what she was doing.
But after a few false starts (the one above was a dropped sparkler if you can follow the descending sparkles!)…
Everyone got their act together (this is ALMOST a heart, by Dash and his cousin Rose)…
And with little help from Rose’s Mum, Curly (doing the year numerals)… we did it!
Happy New Year my friends, old and new!
May 2013 be a cracker of a year for each of you – green pastures all round!

Best New Year wishes to the Bush Babe family. Sparklers were, maybe still are, magical for kids.

Happy New Year to all! I have sparkling snow here in the valley of the great Ohio River. Temp was 15F this morning.
Love the sparkler work AND the camera capture! As the wife of a professional pyro, I just wish we could have helped you get your New Year fireworks wish. I bet he’d even have been happy to re-certify with your local authorities.
Happy New Year to you all.
Great informative blog you have and a joy to read.
Now a plentiful supply of that water stuff from above and all should be well for a great start to 2013.
Cheers
Colin
